An atmospheric science researcher at the University of Utah wants to help fire crews predict the behavior of the wildfires so prevalent in the American West. https://t.co/ExB5S79CZd
TIL - @USGS streamflow gauges can measure "negative discharge" as has been occurring in the Cadron Creek drainage since May 24, when the Arkansas River began flowing back into the creek. #arwx#arkansasriverflooding
Absolutely loved @Booksmart! Hilarious, moving, important! Just one thing...it was a little awkward walking back to the car after the movie and realizing my wife’s vanity plate had taken on new meaning 😆 @BeanieFeldstein @oliviawilde
Enjoyed learning about the island of Rodrigues while writing the caption for this overflight - hope everyone there stays safe as TC #Joaninha approaches...
A 3-D Look at Tropical Cyclone #Joaninha
Around 7:45 p.m. EDT (2345 UTC) on March 23, 2019, GPM passed over an intensifying Tropical Cyclone Joaninha.
One of the prime instruments onboard the Global Precipitation Measurement mission or GPM... https://t.co/J4aurlfHSx
The Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission provides 3-D views of storms ⛈️ as they form and develop. Tracking the life-cycle of a storm helps us understand how storms intensify. GPM has observed numerous severe storms in the Atlantic Ocean over the past 5 years:
Tomorrow the Global Precipitation Measurement Mission (GPM) Core Observatory satellite celebrates its 5th year in orbit! Check out these 5 highlights from its time in service https://t.co/5NDMfCC06D
GPM is a great platform for studying deep convection. Here we have GMI brightness temperatures at the 89 GHz frequency from four intense storms around the globe. Areas with 89 GHz values below 60 K are likely to feature both sizable hail and extremely intense rainfall rates.
new tingler THERE'S A POLAR VORTEX IN MY BUTT AND HE IS HANDSOME here to remind you to stay inside and read your tingler instead of go out in the cold. this is also important reminder of climate change ways https://t.co/a2DB2Tjc1n
@rms5539 I never understood this - the snow should be tapering off or done by the time school is supposed to get out, just give the crews time to clear as many roads as they can instead of dumping everyone onto them at the worse possible time.
#AMS2019 If you don’t have plans during the first coffee break, come by the NASA booth and check out my GPM hyperwall talk, including a segment from this awesome visualization - Inside Hurricane Maria in 360° https://t.co/wgepIEZ3K4 via @YouTube
