I also can't stop thinking about how this might be the greatest missed opportunity in marketing history if Apple doesn't have a billboard of these saying "Shot on iPhone" lol
NASA astronauts have been allowed to use their phones in space, and Commander Reid Wiseman and Mission Specialist Christina Koch uploaded these photos shot on an iPhone 17 Pro Max SELFIE camera
We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.
@strager@theo Ah, my bad here. I reread the original post and I’ve just realized this person created their own block.
I thought they’ve updated some of the adblock’s block lists as Theo complained a lot about this happening in the past.
@strager@theo I didn’t say anything about what I do or would do.
I simply answered Theo’s question why do people do this: because there is no other way to opt out if a person doesn’t want it for some reason.
But ironically it now applies to every adblock or tracker blocker user by default.
@strager@theo Look, there is a paid product.
I use the product.
I should be able to choose whether I want to share anything about how I use the product, as well as any specifics about my setup etc
I think lack of such choice and transparency is exactly the reason why people block trackers
@strager@theo Because I want to, I can have my reasons, valid or not, and there should be a choice.
As a bonus, it makes the service more trustworthy by giving choices to users and educating them what exactly is shared, how it is used and why it is important to do so.
@ProtonMail can you guys make a proper ipad app though?
Right now it’s mostly just a scaled-up phone version.
I would at the very least want to have a double view: sidebar with emails list + email contents.
Please, it isn’t that difficult to implement.
