When circumstances changed his path, a soldier’s resolve remained unshaken—proving that grit, courage and determination can overcome even the toughest battles.

For Lt Col Sahil Gautam, alumnus of NDA and IMA and an officer of the Armoured Corps, a life-altering spinal cord injury following a major accident changed the course of his journey 13 years ago.

Yet, he refused to let circumstances define his future. What others saw as a wheelchair, he embraced as a “Will Chair”—a symbol of his resolve to adapt, overcome and excel.

After years of rehabilitation at Military Hospital #Khadki, he found a new arena to channel his fighting spirit—Sports.

Taking up Archery in 2016, he transformed adversity into achievement through relentless effort, discipline and an unwavering will to excel. Competing against able-bodied archers, he demonstrated that determination knows no barriers. He went on to win a Silver and Bronze at the Para Archery Nationals, became the first Para Archer from the Tri-Services, and represented #India at the World Para Archery Championship 2017 in Beijing.

Later transitioning to Pistol Shooting, he continues to excel as a National-level Air Pistol player.

Beyond sport, he embraces life with positivity—participating in marathons, crafting wooden aeroplanes, delivering motivational talks and pursuing his passion for reading.

Lt Col Sahil Gautam’s journey is a powerful reminder: circumstances may alter the path, but an indomitable spirit decides the destination.

#GeneralDhirajSeth, #COAS, visited Headquarters @IaSouthern to review the Command's operational preparedness and ongoing capability enhancement initiatives. He was briefed by Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, GOC in C, #SouthernCommand, on the prevailing operational environment, readiness posture, training initiatives and measures undertaken to further enhance combat effectiveness.

The #COAS emphasised the need for sustained operational readiness, adaptability, technology absorption and continuous refinement of Techniques, Tactics and Procedures (TTPs) in keeping with the evolving character of warfare. He further underscored the importance of realistic training, greater jointness and indigenous capability development to build an agile, technologically empowered and future-ready Indian Army.

Commending all ranks for their professionalism and dedication, #COAS exhorted them to remain mission-focused while maintaining the Command's operational edge.

A live-streamed session on managing post-exam anxiety and stress was organised for parents of children aged 11-16 for beneficiaries in the region of #DhruvaCommand. #RegionalAWWA. Over 500 parents joined the session online and offline, conducted by Mrs. Anupama Mohla, a trained psychological counselor and NLP expert. The session was highly appreciated for addressing parental concerns and providing reassurance.
