@MrDownes214 I agree with this! There is a difference between just adding technology into a lesson vs actually incorporating it into a lesson. I'm glad to hear that you are becoming more knowledgeable about how to use different applications in your teaching! #wuedt6020
@jaimebaffuto I agree that access issues is a barrier that a lot of teachers face! In my district, we try to make sure that wifi is set up in students' homes who might not have it. Still, I cannot expect a student to always have access to internet at home. #wuedt6020
@DFleurantin98 I have this issue all the time with my middle school students! I am jealous that you have an app that tracks if they are using the technology appropriately! Have you found that this has minimized misuse of the technology? #wuedt6020
@Hampton0415 I agree on professional development being crucial for effective technology integration. I am lucky that I have a great tech department that is able to work with me on troubleshooting issues. Hopefully this course has helped you balance tech integration with curriculum! #wuedt6020
@SGuiou1996 I know that feeling! It is very frustrating when you have incorporating technology into a lesson and then not having the opportunity to use what you planned! Hopefully with tech advances in the future, this will happen less and less. #wuedt6020
@mstrisolini@DonorsChoose Wow! I can't imagine the difference you felt moving from 6 iPads for over 100 students to being 1:1 with iPads! I am sure this new accessibility has allowed you to integrate technology more into your classroom! #wuedt6020
@SGuiou1996 Having the opportunity to do virtual simulations and field trips has helped my science classes! Sometimes, it is hard to do a lab for a certain topic. However, having access to virtual labs makes it possible in the classroom! #wuedt6020
@MrDownes214 Our school started an AI Committee this year where we learned about how to manage and utilize AI in the classroom. We learned how AI algorithms can analyze student data to identify areas of weaknesses while also providing tailored and targeted support. #wuedt6020
@Hampton0415 I think this might become more popular in the near future! VR can provide immersive learning experiences that take students to different times and places! This would be great for history lessons! I have even heard of VR allowing students to explore the human body! #wuedt6020
@Hampton0415@KFranklin923 I agree with this! Having an appreciation for different backgrounds is crucial for creating a welcoming learning environment. Students can share traditions and holidays via social media apps, which allows other students to learn about different cultures! #wuedt6020
@KRossEdTech@KFranklin923 Thank you for discussing how this can be used specifically in a World Cultures class! I wonder if virtual pen pals could be integrated into the classroom depending on the grade level! Websites such as PenPal Schools and ePals help students get connected! #wuedt6020
@KFranklin923 Social media allows for cultural awareness education through virtual tours of landmarks and the opportunity to participate in live global events. Additionally, discussions about global issues can occur through social media campaigns and discussion forums. #wuedt6020
@KRossEdTech@KFranklin923@harmonizelearn This is the first time that I am hearing of @harmonizelearn ! I am definitely going to check out the resource! I did a quick overview of the website and loved reading about how it can transform classroom discussion posts! Thanks for sharing! #wuedt6020
@SGuiou1996@KFranklin923@Symbaloo I just learned about @Symbaloo in our past EDT course! Ever since, I have also been using it in my classroom! It is a great way to organize different resources that we frequently use in class. Students have loved being able to bookmark just their symbaloo page! #wuedt6020
@KFranklin923 Padlet (@padlet ) is an online bulletin board where students can share ideas and collaborate with one another. They are able to post notes, links, images, and videos. It can be used for brainstorming sessions, project planning, peer feedback, and resource sharing! #wuedt6020
