@mcmansionhell Body doubling is great for this. Set aside an hour or two and have someone just sit with you (looking over your shoulder if need be, or doing their own focused work). Light external pressure / motivation is often all it takes to get unblocked internally

I just left a public comment on the Draft Plan that will reshape our eastern waterfront. We have a once-in-a-generation chance to rethink the Embarcadero – let’s make it a truly public space, for people not cars.

It's easy to comment, and today's the deadline. Link in reply ⤵️

@monicamallon I agree we should support local transit projects - but we also need structural reforms to make them faster and cheaper to build across the board. Doesn’t have to be one or the other.

The Transit Costs Project has some good research & recs here:

@BriannaWu “No One Is Talking About This”, by the genius Patricia Lockwood, is about exactly this - it starts off reading like a hilarious twitter feed, then becomes something both grounded and transcendent. A perfect book for the brain-poisoned.

Wishing you luck and good health.

@Ada_Palmer @UN oh and I forgot - a strip of kombu cooking with the beans supposedly helps them cook evenly and makes them easier to digest

[Nathaniel @n_thaniel]

@Ada_Palmer @UN This recipe is a favorite of mine - minimal prep work (don’t even have to soak the beans), simple pantry ingredients, several servings, and it’s delicious! I do recommend Rancho Gordo for beans - they’re recently harvested, heirloom varieties. And instant pot makes beans v easy

@Atrios @whstancil And vaccination provides scant protection - breakthrough cases, even mild ones, are just as likely to produce many of the lingering symptoms. The vaccines were an incredible feat but they’re not a panacea

@Atrios @whstancil Hospitalization and death are not the only bad outcomes. 20% of all cases lead to some degree of long covid (i.e organ, brain, and immune system damage, currently untreatable). This is a mass disabling event that we’re doing nothing to mitigate.

You grow in a garden, lost in thought. You spot a stubborn flower just beginning to bloom.

@rugstump @gramofsphere @TheGameDev1 @itsa_talia @MrAndyNgo How about them being chock full of white supremacists? https://t.co/W9AgWgCGKN

Or them going out of their way to ignore a serial killer targeting gay men? https://t.co/wYC9j0jRA0

Or them harassing sex workers, esp. trans women? https://t.co/0G4OTdggvF
