To any human being who cares for humanity -do unto others as you would like done to you.

We tried to engage through dialogue and diplomacy long before October 29th on the escalating human rights concerns in Tanzania. Unfortunately, Tanzania government still killed many during October 29th elections and many lives were disrupted. Some of us will continue to be on the front lines to seek justice and advocate to those who can’t. These efforts contributed to a bipartisan bill to review the U.S.–Tanzania relationship.

Of many communications and visits to the U.S. Senate, I do not share every step, but the work is being done. And it will continue until justice and the common good for all Tanganyikans is achieved.

Recently visited both Senate offices of those who introduced the bill @SenatorShaheen and @tedcruz -to express gratitude for their willingness to listen and engage on matters of human life, religious freedom, democracy, human rights, and accountability.

We continue to bring in more support from other Senators and Representatives as we work to ensure the United States, and ultimately the @WhiteHouse @POTUS, is fully informed about the truth of what is happening in Tanzania - including the loss of lives, enforced disappearances, abductions, political imprisonment, torture, a stolen election, silencing of dissent, restricted media access, and limitations on access to information. The list goes on.

The EU Parliament has condemned the Tanzanian government, and the U.S. is taking steps toward accountability measures against those responsible for the suffering.

We all can do something for thousands of Tanzanians who may not be in a position to speak or act. All law-abiding diaspora in the U.S. -the time is NOW to act. You have a voice in the great land of freedom 🇺🇸-use it.

Reach out to your representatives and Senators. Tell them Tanzanians are being held under fear and cannot freely speak. Tell them about the bill, so that it can be supported and passed- sooner than later.

No trips to Russia, China, or Arab countries from regime🇹🇿will erase or solve this reality- that lives were lost to those responsible to remain in power. What matters is the future that ordinary people can vote freely, worship freely, access education, access healthcare, and live with dignity.

Because the truth is-when a child of the poor is shot, many remain silent. But when accountability begins to touch power, suddenly there is noise.

This is not a fight for a few of us. It is for every human being who believes in dignity and justice.

I have travelled back and forth to DC, paid for my own flights and accommodation, left my children, and walked those Capitol Hill corridors in heels until they broke.

This time, we also brought forward voices of those directly affected. In a Senate conference room, as testimony was shared, my tinted reading glasses could not hide the tears. I tried to hold them back, but they kept falling - because these are real human lives, not statistics.

There is a narrative that U.S. Senators only hear one side. That has not been my experience. Serious institutions as senate offices conduct due diligence, ask questions, and engage multiple perspectives before making decisions.

As we sat in that room, staff were actively taking notes - page after page - because every detail matters. Truth matters. The same cannot always be said for every visit received there-go figure. But I believe in justice. I believe in accountability. And I believe in humanity. We are not done yet but close to justice. Together we can. Together, humanity shall win. 🇹🇿🙏🏾

Wait, let me get this straight.

So this woman ordered the killing of over 10,000 of her own citizens, then turned around and claimed the presidency.

Just days after the massacre, she stood on a podium and proudly declared that “the correct force” had been used against protesters. Then, in one of the coldest moments imaginable, she questioned grieving parents by asking: “Why did you allow your children to protest? This is why they are dead.”

When the European Union condemned the killings, she arrogantly responded: “Who are you to tell me what?”

Then the United States condemned her regime. Unlike her response to Europe, she was far more careful with America because she fears Washington. Instead of insults, she sent lobbyists to try and convince President Trump and the U.S. government to look away from the bloodshed.

As we speak, Tanzania continues paying tens of thousands of dollars every month to a Trump-aligned lobbying group in Washington, hoping Americans will ignore the massacre. But despite the lobbying, President Trump has not looked away. Members of the U.S. Congress have continued standing with the victims and condemning the killings.

When lobbying failed, she moved on to offering mineral and business deals to American companies, believing economic interests would erase the blood of innocent protesters. Some companies accepted the deals, yet still the pressure from the United States did not disappear.

And now, after failing to silence international outrage, what is her latest move?

She has turned to some of the world’s most notorious online scammers to help rewrite history , to shift blame away from her regime and somehow pin responsibility for the killings on America and President Trump. She has hired a NIGERIAN SCAMMER to do a documentary to whitewash the killings. All reputable journalists and media houses in the world refused to do her dirty work, except Nigerians, OFCOURSE!!!!

Imagine that. A government after massacring its own people now paying NIgerian scammers to attack the very countries demanding accountability.

@POTUS, @realDonaldTrump Tanzanians are begging the world not to abandon us. A country cannot heal, prosper, or remain stable while the person who ordered mass killings continues to hold power without accountability.

The people of Tanzania deserve justice. And above all, they deserve the chance to reclaim their country and live without fear.
