@Katevonnii @psyc220 #CD7 i agree! I think that is great way to think outside the box. Statistics can be beneficial but I think relying on them too much does hurt us, and by actually getting to the know the person can truly help in a field like that.
@lucypericone @psyc220 #CD7 I agree! I think that it's a great to incorporate that as older generations seem to be more apprehensive for seeking help, so hopefully by doing that they will be more open to trying it.
@psyc220 (2) itself in many ways, and that we need to be patient when working with clients and open to treating them with various types of therapy, because not everyone will react to the same suggested type of therapy.
#CD7 @psyc220 I hope to become a clinical therapist that specializes working w/ young adults. People in this role can reinforce the medical model around mental illness & stereotypes. Actions I could take in dismantling this is educating others that mental illness can manifest it
@Shannon03262326@AOC @psyc220 I also agree this ethics of autonomy. I retweeted another tweet of hers because I feel she is perfect example of someone who is fighting for and trying to protect the right's of women.
#220Ethics @psyc220 I think this tweet is demonstrating Ethic of Autonomy because she is discussing the issue of abortion and how not having access to that right can greatly impact one's life.
Yes! It’s so out to touch to imply that abortion isn’t an economic issue.
Few things impact one’s finances more than a having a child! When a politician is trying to force you to have a baby in a country w/ 0 guaranteed healthcare or childcare, abortion is a HUGE economic issue.
@maddieschadeyy @psyc220 #CD5b I completely agree and hope that the university within the next few years, begins to add on more accessible routes into buildings and within them.
@JordynCrane123 @psyc220 #CD5b I completely agree! I have actually seen that family's tiktok's come up on my feed quite a few times; I feel like in the beginning she might not have been posting it as "inspiration porn" but as she gained more recognition, it has turned into that, which is sad.
@pagdag220 @psyc220 #CD5a I agree! have noticed that a majority of them are quite far, or placed in weird locations. I think the closet ones I have seen are the ones behind dhall, and if someone does have to park in a handicap spot, the amount of stairs is another issue.
@jdvick23 @psyc220 #CD5a i completely agree! i feel like when it comes to ODS they are purposely making it extraordinarily difficult to get these accomadations. but at the same time the university says that if we need help or accommodations to not hesitate to reach out & ask for help.
#CD5b @psyc220 I think as a university we create barriers with our housing. Most dorms are accessible only by stairs and once inside some don't have elevator, like Bell hall for example, or if there is an elevator it isn't accommodating to a wheelchair.
#CD5a @psyc220 I included two different pictures one clearly demonstrates "inspiration porn" & the other depicting our larger community. I think our larger community creates circumstances by overly celebrating actions of disabled people that are part of their everyday life.
@teagdavis @psyc220 #CD4 @psyc220 @teagdavis I completely agree! I really liked how you mentioned that no matter how you identify it will follow you. It is so true & why it is so important that people come together to put an end to gender-based oppression b/c it will cont. unless we all worktogether
@lexikwarren @psyc220 #CD4 @psyc220 @lexikwarren Hi Lexi! I really liked your analysis and how mentioned putting an end to toxic masculinity. I think sometimes when we hear the word feminism it's easy to think about just women, but it is fight to end all gender-based inequality!
#CD4 @psyc220 While the feminist movement is a fight for women's rights, it isn't just women standing up for it & it is made up of people from varying paths of life & other oppressed groups. Solidarity amongst these groups makes them stronger & their voices louder.
@ecdeboe @psyc220 I agree! I was shocked and it still dumbfounds me to this day that people are so quick to believe that is the only way racism existed.
#CD3a @psyc220 I have had this conversation w/ a past friend of mine who believed that racism didn't exist because slavery was abolished. I was shocked by their ignorance & encouraged them to look at the news & the violence that occurs against POC's daily. 1/2
