Despite the persistent and uninformed narrative pushed by certain vested interests individuals and organisations who brand the Kuki-Zo people as "refugees" or "outsiders" history tells a very different story.
The attached archival document, dated 17 September 1947, is the distribution list of the first Manipur Constitution Making Committee. Of its members, six were Kuki-Zo, forming a significant bloc among those who helped lay the constitutional foundation of Manipur itself:
1. Pu Tiankham Paite — B.A., C.O., Member
2. Pu K. Teba Kilong — Member
3. Pu Thangkhopao Kipgen — B.A., C.O., Member
4. Pu Dr. Kampu Gangte — Advisor
5. Pu Thangkhai— Advisor
6. Pu S.L. Lunneh — President, Kuki National Assembly (K.N.A.) Advisor
These were not refugees. These were sons of the soil educated leaders who sat at the very table where Manipur's constitutional future was written decades before today's manufactured controversies.
CRPF Fire on Kuki-Zo Protesters Raises Q Over Use of Force
Targeting law-abiding protesters instead of pursuing the actual perpetrators only expose the genocidal agenda and suppression of SF against minorities.
Till when minorities will be suppressed with force and violence?
Nooooo. CJP or any Cockroach or any supporter of them should not endorse this. Just capture and handover. Non cooperation with Godi media. Expose lies through social media. Never ever any violence. Lives of students matter. Their education and career matter. More than these goons. The moment this becomes a common scene, students will take law into their hand destroying their own life. We need to show the way. We are better than BJP. We better than these termites.
A man is inciting violence, urging Nagas in Imphal to instigate an attack on RIMS
Hospital, demanding that injured Kuki patients be denied treatment&prevented from leaving alive.
This is direct violation of human rights. Patients must be shifted immediately to ensure their safety.
KSO #Sadar Hills fiercely condemned the ruthless militant ambush injuring three innocent youths at #Leilon Munlui. They vehemently denounced a hostile mob's barbaric attempt to storm #RIMS hospital, while praising security forces for valiantly saving lives. @LokBhavManipur
🌄 Here is what happened today June 15th 2026 at Leilon Munlui Village, Kangpokpi District.
At approximately 6:00 AM on 15 June 2026, NSCN-IM and ZUF-K cadres launched a coordinated armed attack on the villages of Leilon Munlui and Leilon Vaiphei in the Leimakhong Area of Kangpokpi District, Manipur.
During the attack, the assailants fired multiple Lathode bombs and other automatic weapons towards the villages, causing panic among residents and endangering civilian lives and property. The attack resulted in serious injuries to three village volunteers and civilians, namely:
1. Mr. Genlenmang Vaiphei, aged 15 years, student.
2. Mr. Paogoulal, aged 18 years, student.
3. Mr. Lunliandaw Vaiphei, aged 20 years, IDP.
The injured persons were subsequently evacuated to Imphal for medical treatment.
Eyewitness accounts and reports from the ground indicate that the attackers approached, launched the attack, and withdrew through the Konsakhul side, where personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), C/158 Battalion, were deployed. Despite the close proximity of the CRPF post to the area of attack and the movement of the armed cadres through the said route, no intervention was made to prevent, repel, or interdict the attack.
The incident has generated serious concern among the affected villages regarding the adequacy of security arrangements and the apparent failure of the deployed security personnel to prevent the attack or provide timely protection to the civilian population.
The attack constitutes a grave escalation of the prevailing security situation in the Leimakhong Area and has further heightened fear and insecurity among the residents of Leilon Munlui, Leilon Vaiphei, and neighbouring villages.

@ANI Dikhoji, I don’t deny what u are saying about the heinous nature of the killing of the 6 Naga civilians. But u seem quite selective in your framing. Was the killing of 3 Kuki pastors not equally heinous? All lives matter-yours, mine, and everyone else’s. Be responsible.
Anurabh Saikia, quoting a Naga leader, wrote for @scroll_in in September 2023:
“It is an open secret that some Naga groups, such as the MNRF, are funded, mentored, armed, and groomed by Meitei underground groups,” he said. “That is because they need forests to hide and operate from, and there are none in the valley.”
So, the Manipur Nagas do admit that they are working with the Meiteis and against the Kukis. They have never been neutral.

📢 Urgent:
A video shows a man brandishing a knife and threatening to “butcher” the entire Kuki community in defence of the NSCN-IM and ZUF-K attack on Loibol village, which led to the killing of 3 civilians. This is criminal intimidation. Immediate action needed.

The Kuki Organisation for Human Rights Trust (KOHUR) has strongly rebutted the recent statement issued by the Media Cell of the United Naga Council (UNC), exposing what it described as distorted narratives and misleading claims targeting the Kuki-Zo community in Manipur.
KOHUR challenged the UNC’s assertions on historical, constitutional, and security matters, stating that attempts to delegitimize the identity, land rights, and political history of the Kuki-Zo people are unacceptable and contrary to documented realities.
The organisation further warned against the dangerous propagation of divisive rhetoric at a time when peace, justice, and accountability are urgently needed in the region. KOHUR reiterated that truth cannot be erased through propaganda or selective interpretation of history.
