If it’s Electric Mobility, it’s Tamil Nadu
Ultraviolette Automotive (@UltravioletteEV) is set to establish its BIGGA Factory at State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (@SIPCOTTN ), Shoolagiri, further strengthening Tamil Nadu’s fast-growing EV and advanced mobility ecosystem.
Designed around Industry 4.0 manufacturing, the facility will scale to 2.5 lakh vehicles annually, with infrastructure planned to expand to 5 lakh units.
The announcement builds on the MoU exchanged at the VETTRI Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026, in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay, for Ultraviolette’s high-performance electric mobility manufacturing presence in Krishnagiri.
From high-performance EVs to manufacturing at scale, Tamil Nadu is powering the future of electric mobility.

TN is one of India's better-performing states on electricity,
Power cuts still happen because the real problem is often the distribution network, maintenance and inefficient management,
TN should start treating it like a service: smart meters, transparent performance data, competitive procurement, private participation and accountability for every outage.
With new secretariat coming up at Pattinapakkam, CMDA has changed the classification of selected site land from residential to commercial land and has begun works to obtain CRZ approvals!!
1. Too many conflicting movements at one opening
The same small opening is used by:
• Vehicles exiting the bypass
• Vehicles entering the bypass from the service road
• Vehicles making U-turns
• Vehicles proceeding towards Ambattur Estate signal
These movements conflict with each other and interrupt traffic flow.
2. A narrow Z-bend beneath the bypass
Most vehicles exiting the bypass proceed towards Ambattur Estate signal through a narrow Z-bend. Currently, traffic passes through only one opening between two bridge pillars.
When many vehicles reach the bend together, they compete for the limited space and the flow slows considerably.

I have been traveling thro this Ambattur Industrial Estate road since 2013 ! Still the roads are not proper, they keep digging and relaying - this pics are from today ! Why would it take so much time to fix one stretch of road ?

Possible solutions
Solution 1: Create one or two additional openings
For nearly 2 km after the Maduravoyal bridge, the bypass and service road run parallel, close to each other and at the same level.
Creating one or two additional openings along this stretch, could allow vehicles from the service road to enter the bypass earlier. It could also distribute U-turn and merging movements across multiple points instead of concentrating everything at the existing 30-metre opening.
Solution 2. Provide another passage through the Z-bend
There appears to be space for an additional opening between the next set of bridge pillars. Subject to a structural and road-safety assessment, this could provide more capacity and reduce vehicles competing through a single narrow passage.
📢Coimbatore-based Safebox has raised $1.1 million in a seed round, led by a family office, with participation from multiple angel investors including Sekhar Garisa, MD of Claypond Capital, investing in his personal capacity.
Safebox is building what it calls a Family Wealth Protection platform. The idea is simple but relevant to a growing number of Indian families. Our financial lives are spread across multiple bank accounts, PANs, stocks, ETFs, EPFs, NPS, insurance policies, documents and institutions.
Safebox brings these assets, liabilities, insurance and critical family information together across 55 categories, while also mapping nominees so that family members can locate and access what they need during an emergency or a major life transition.
The startup says that since its public launch in June 2026, families on the platform have already recorded more than ₹6,000 crore in assets across these categories.
There is an interesting larger problem behind this.
According to the data cited by Safebox, ₹86,917 crore in unclaimed bank deposits had been transferred to the RBI’s Depositor Education and Awareness Fund as of June 30, 2026.
Safebox’s approach is about helping families create a map of what they own before something happens. As Safebox co-founder and CEO Vijay Veera puts it, families spend decades building wealth but very little time thinking about whether their loved ones could actually find it.
And now, with this funding, the team wants to take that vision further. The $1.1 million will be deployed across two key priorities: strengthening the product and accelerating distribution.
That means enhancing features, integrations and user experience, while expanding partner networks and corporate tie-ups and investing in customer acquisition to reach more families.
The founding team, Vijay Veera, Vignesh Rengasamy and Rajesh Sankarappan, are serial entrepreneurs, and Safebox is their third venture following earlier ventures in the US and India.

We always buy the Gokulashtami assorted pack from A2B every year. It contains all the usual sweets and savories needed on the occasion in limited quantities and we make some more at home as per our need. Every year, A2B tries to add something interesting inside the pack - this year, it's a flute!
I have also wondered by other sweet stores don't do something like this for Gokulashtami - make special packs with Tamil Nadu-specific items for the festive day. Usually, besides A2B, only Sri Krishna Sweets makes such packs. But this year, I see more brands - Ganga Sweets and Perambur Sri Srinivasa too advertising! Of course, the only one available in Bengaluru is A2B (or we need to order much in advance from Sri Krishna Sweets online).
In comparison, the Amul ad today seems rather generic with regard to the occasion. Wouldn't it make sense for Amul to create custom packs for Janmashtami filling it with specific sets of sweets and savories?
