@OpStCyprian@mattjhedges11 Then why are protestant traditions (on average) more accepting of trans ideology than the catholic church is? https://t.co/ECFYzjQMax
@OpStCyprian@mattjhedges11 Ridiculous. If anything, it's the opposite. A transgender person argues that there is nothing inherent to being male or female, it's all just accidents. That's why they try to confuse the issue by pointing out people with intersex conditions.
@OpStCyprian@mattjhedges11 The substance is what something REALLY is. The accidents are qualities that aren't essential to what the thing really is. Catholics believe that the substance changes but that the accidents stay the same. Where's the incoherence?
@TD_Barrett Isn't it inconsistent to belong to a church who's beliefs you don't profess? You're automatically excommunicated for denying papal infallibility, which isn't necessarily the case for not liking the NO.
@raygetadjusted@MattWalshBlog Not all medication works perfectly. People on statins sometimes have heart attacks. But it's irrelevant. The implication underneath this sort of thing is that America shouldn't consider regulating gun ownership because there's other causes to the shooting. It's not honest.
@OpStCyprian@mattjhedges11 Aristotelian language is incoherent? I believe you're either being uncharitable or you haven't looked into it very deeply. By the same logic, forensic justification is incoherent; non-righteous righteousness? What? square circle, if you ask me.
@nolibertarians "very few". maybe. ive heard plenty of prots/evangelicals say that one can freely reject God's mercy, which I believe is the most the catholicism says as well. I'll have to check the official teaching again.
@nolibertarians So are many protestants and evangelicals. Personally, I'd like to be as "monergistic" as the church allows for. I definitely cant earn anything.
@schmitt4545@DixiCustodiam@cath_menarion from my understanding, I thought its because angels are outside time and thus their will cant be reformed. its basically a once for all decision. I dont think God would refuse them if they somehow repented (they just cant).
