Personally, I’d have Luka-Wemby 1-2, especially since neither of those teams were picked to be at/near the top of the West to start the season. Swap Luka and SGA and the Thunder are probably still title favs.

@theNFLchick JH wasn’t going to step down so they would’ve had to fire JH first and then pivot to MM, or tell MM they want him to take the job after they fire JH. That may work in-season but MM had other options so no guarantees he stays after firing JH. Could’ve ended up with neither 🤷🏽‍♂️

Unless Harbs was willing to step down willingly and/or move to the FO, who knows what MM would do.

@urulakers @TrevorLane What incentive do these teams have to move these expiring contracts to the Lakers? It makes no sense for them to move expiring for expiring with no draft pick compensation since I doubt they want to keep Gabe or Maxi and Rob not trading picks for role players

@bsmolka Yeah, or they could use that time to try to work out a trade. Either way, I THINK he’d need to be on the opening day 53 for his entire salary to be guaranteed so more of a risk if he gets another offer
