The animals all dug in to heaping platters of fresh dandelion cheese, candied nuts, plum an’ currant pudding, roasted carrots and leeks piled high, and kind of a lemony-garlicky-miso-gochujang easy weeknight protein noodle situation
@fake_medical@rorysutherland Exactly. There are a whole lot more people in the yellow curve, because £200k is worth less than it was in 2014 and because the UK population has increased. You can't make any real conclusions about the wealth of any specific age cohort from this graph.
@hexadecimallol@NathanpmYoung The bar at most pubs is lower than a US bar, people use it to order rather than to sit and drink. People sit at their own little low tables usually, as a trip to the pub is usually with a few mates (though often a token old fella is propped up at the bar nursing an ale).
@niallsaidno@DanNeidle These are giant marshmallows, made for roasting over an open fire American-style. The position for normal marshmallows is settled (they're VATable as normally eaten with fingers).
if u say no to pretzels, the flight attendant should give u something called a Coin of Restraint. while worth nothing now, these coins will play a major role in the afterlife
@CharlotDearling@LukeTryl We used to have "Budget purdah", where the Government & Treasury would not say a word about their taxing and spending plans until the Budget speech. There were very few rumours or press leaks then, and when there were the Speaker would sanction the Chancellor (or they resigned!)
@WagieCapital@j0hnwang I thought that too when I read the quoted tweet. But I think that's wrong, and the two are compatible. There was market appetite on IPO for $95/share which has now gone down to $30/share. People who bought at $95 have lost $65. To who? The people who the banks placed shares with.
