Today, Kharam Vaiphei village was reduced to ashes while innocent Kuki civilians fled for their lives under gunfire and terror. The KukiCommunity strongly condemns the brutal burning of our ancestral village allegedly carried out by NSCN-IM, ZUF Kamson group, Arambai Tenggol, and Myanmar-based Meitei militants while Central Forces and Manipur Police allegedly failed to protect innocent civilians on the ground.

Families were forced to run from their own homes as flames consumed houses, properties, and ancestral land built through generations. Women, children, and elderly villagers were left helpless while armed groups allegedly moved openly and fearlessly during the attack. The silence and failure to stop such violence have deeply angered the KukiCommunity.

Serious allegations have also been raised against the SP of Kangpokpi district for allegedly providing protection or allowing armed groups linked to NSCN-IM, ZUF Kamson group, and Arambai Tenggol to operate freely during the burning of Kharam Vaiphei village. If these allegations are true, it represents a complete betrayal of constitutional duty and raises disturbing questions about how innocent citizens are expected to trust the very institutions meant to protect them.

The KukiCommunity wants the entire nation and international community to know that Kuki ancestral villages are being attacked, civilians displaced, homes burnt, and innocent people terrorized while those responsible continue to operate without fear. This is not peace. This is not justice. This is the destruction of innocent lives under the shadow of political silence and selective action.

We demand immediate and strict action against NSCN-IM, ZUF Kamson group, Arambai Tenggol, Myanmar-based Meitei militants, and every individual involved in the burning of Kharam Vaiphei village. We also demand an independent investigation into the role of officials accused of failing to stop or prevent the attack. The Government of India must immediately intervene before more innocent lives and villages are destroyed. Enough of the suffering. Enough of the silence. Enough of watching Kuki villages burn while the world looks away.

#Manipur has witnessed several incidents where members of the #Meitei and #Tangkhul communities treated the #Indian_Army badly through hostility, obstruction, disrespect, and confrontation while the security forces were carrying out their duties to maintain peace and protect civilians in the state.

#Manipur:
The pain of a family waiting in silence is beyond words.

Mrs.Kimminhoi Kipgen, the wife of #Lamgoulen_Kipgen, shared with tears that she is pregnant and struggling to care for their two young children alone. Her husband, Lamgoulen Kipgen, had gone towards the Senapati side in search of daily wages to support his family, but for many days he has not returned home.

A wife is waiting for her husband.
Children are waiting for their father.
An unborn child deserves to see its father safely return home.

No innocent civilian who went out merely to earn bread for his family should disappear or be held in fear and uncertainty. The continued suffering of the family has caused deep emotional pain and trauma.

We appeal to the Government of India, security agencies, human rights organizations, and all concerned authorities to urgently intervene and ensure justice for Lamgoulen Kipgen and the other civilians reportedly held by #NSCN_IM and #SDSA. Their safe release and proper investigation must not be delayed any longer.

Humanity must come before hatred and conflict.
Bring Lamgoulen Kipgen home safely.

I was literally shocked to go through the NSCN-IM mouthpiece and Tangkhul CSO platforms that instigate violence in the hills. I read the TANGKHUL NAGA LONG press release the other day in their response to the WORKING COMMITTEE OF KUKI CSO UKHRUL (WCKCSO).

I would like to remind this NSCN-IM mouthpiece: please stop using the term “ANCESTRAL LAND” in your terminology. You may issue 100 press releases a day; it’s a democratic world. As a matter of fact, the so-called ancestral land doesn’t suit you, since the so-called Kamjong District should have been called Chassad District. Due to typical NSCN-IM Tangkhul supremacy politics, most Kuki villages were either demolished, destroyed, or burned down one after another.

The people of Kamjong stayed under the guidance and permission of the Chassad Chief, and all adjoining villages were under the Chassad and Maokot Chiefs. How many families, villages, and persons worked under the Chassad Chief can be ascertained.

Litan Sareikhong, Shikibung, and Thawai Kuki were established before your forefathers even existed on this planet. Proof and evidence attached.

The so-called Namlee, Wanglee, and Choro villages — which are the epicenter of the drug business, illegal arms smuggling routes, and illegal routes for Myanmarese Tangkhuls to enter Indian territory — were established recently on February 10, 2010. Proof and evidence attached.

The 10-year anniversary of their village establishments was celebrated on February 11, 2020.

Kuki Inpi Manipur has welcomed the constitution of the High-Level Committee on Demographic Changes by the Government of India, describing it as a long-overdue and important step toward establishing truth, justice, transparency, and historical accuracy regarding the suffering and demographic changes faced by the Kuki-Zo people over decades.

The statement expressed confidence that the impartial committee, led by respected experts, will conduct a thorough, evidence-based, and transparent investigation into demographic changes, displacement, violence, and ethnic cleansing, particularly in Manipur and other border states. Kuki Inpi Manipur stated that the Kuki-Zo community is fully prepared to cooperate with the committee by presenting documented evidence, census records, displacement data, and historical accounts.

The press statement further rejected the repeated allegations and fabricated narratives of “illegal immigration” against the Kuki-Zo people, calling such claims politically motivated attempts to discredit the legitimate political aspirations, identity, dignity, and constitutional rights of the Kuki-Zo community. It emphasized that the Kuki-Zo people have themselves been victims of repeated violence, forced displacement, demographic aggression, and ethnic cleansing for decades.

The organisation highlighted the historical suffering endured by Kuki-Zo communities, including violence linked to insurgency movements in earlier decades and the ongoing ethnic violence and destruction of villages, homes, and churches since 2023. It stated that these repeated waves of violence have severely affected ancestral lands, population distribution, livelihoods, and community security.

Kuki Inpi Manipur appealed to the Government of India and the High-Level Committee to separate facts from politically motivated misinformation through a fair and unbiased investigation. The organisation also reiterated its commitment to peace, constitutional processes, justice, national integrity, and the protection of the fundamental rights, dignity, security, and future of the Kuki-Zo people within the Indian Union.

Yesterday night around 10:00 PM, NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, Tangkhul volunteers, relatives’ volunteers, Arambai Tenggol, and Myanmar-based Meitei militants again allegedly opened heavy firing towards Mongkot Chepu Kuki ancestral village in Ukhrul district. Innocent villagers, women, and children spent the entire night under fear and terror as firing continued towards Kuki ancestral land.

Till today, armed Myanmar-based Meitei militants and NSCN Eastern Flank militants are actively involved in the Manipur crisis while strict law-and-order restrictions are imposed mainly in Kuki-dominated areas. At the same time, repeated armed movements and firing towards Kuki villages continue openly while many authorities remain silent.

There are serious allegations that Tangkhul women and Meitei Meira Paibis blocked the movement of Central Forces on the roads while armed groups including Arambai Tenggol, NSCN-IM, NSCN Eastern Flank, Tangkhul volunteers, and Myanmar militants operated freely in the area. Such actions directly endanger innocent civilians and further worsen the already fragile situation in Manipur.

The Kuki Community strongly states that Kuki villages in Ukhrul district and Kamjong district are no longer safe under the present situation where minority villages continue to face repeated threats and attacks. Therefore, Kuki villages in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts must immediately be brought under Kangpokpi district administration for the safety, protection, and security of innocent Kuki civilians.

If the continued targeting of Kuki minority villages is ignored and no concrete action is taken, the Kuki Community will intensify democratic protests and public movements demanding justice, security, and equal protection under the Constitution of India.
