BKC Goes Car-Free Every Friday
MMRDA Launches Weekly Public Transport Day in BKC to Promote Sustainable Mobility
Every Friday, BKC will choose public transport. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the MMRDA, in collaboration with WRI India, has launched the 'BKC Weekly Public Transport Day', encouraging thousands of professionals across India's premier business district to leave their cars behind and travel by Metro, suburban rail, buses and other public transport modes.
Announcing the initiative, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, called upon MMRDA employees to lead by example by observing Public Transport Day every Friday.
Inspired by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji's call to increase the use of public transport, the initiative is built on the belief that the future of urban mobility will be shaped not just by infrastruture, but by the choices we make every day.
As India’s leading business district, BKC has the opportunity to lead this shift by creating a culture of smarter, more sustainable commuting.
What begins as a #NoCarDay every Friday has the potential to become a powerful movement for cleaner air, reduced congestion, lower emissions and more liveable cities.

@aparanjape@sssaaagar Ah that’s great news, not sure it if opens two ways only only one carriageway opens though.. the trend is to open one side first 🤷♂️
Also very difficult for him to make a comeback now, almost nil chances.. India has just 2 much talent to feel the need to fall back on him. Age also will not help in his case.
I would have been tempted to give Suryakumar Yadav one more series. When he is in form, he is a world beater and his captaincy record is awesome. But once the selectors had made up their minds, there was really only one choice in Shreyas
India dropped a World Cup-winning captain without a goodbye.
Is this ruthless efficiency or just ruthless? 🏏

@sardesairajdeep@GautamGambhir There’s something that’s not right. It’s just insane that Sarfaraz can be kept out like this. It has to be something that we don’t know
Yes, very unfortunate but the signs were there for the last 2 years. Yes he’s won the WC but his own batting hasn’t really touched the standard that he himself had established for himself. Age also not on his side. He’s actually a collateral damage because of the amazing depth and talent that Indian cricket has in the T20 format
@sunandanlele@ShreyasIyer15@Ruutu1331 What has Ruturaj done in the IPL to justify his selection? He’s part of the India A squad so at least he’s in the mix..
6 June, 1674 (Jyeshtha Shukla Trayodashi) - a great day in the history of Maharashtra... a great day in the history of Bharat!
352 years ago this day - the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, at the Raigad Fort.
The beginning of a new era - the era of 'Swarajya'.
@MandarSawant184 If he’s not able to find his form it’s going to be difficult for him to retain his place in MI as well. It’s always difficult for a one format player to find form. It applies to Virat & Rohit as well in the ODI format. It’s a natural thing, since u r playing very few games
@tavleen_singh The NEET is an absolute mess & the CBSE is a bigger fiasco. Everyone agrees with that & all the ppl that I have been speaking to agree that the govt has handled this horribly wrong and in a completely screwed up manner..
@CricketopiaCom He should have been an automatic pick in that squad. That he was not was in itself a mistake. In fact Shreyas is a must in all white ball cricket.
Workers remove the #AirIndia sign from the iconic 23-storey, sea-facing Nariman Point building as it changes hands after decades on #Mumbai’s skyline.
The 105-metre marble tower, vacant for years after Air India shifted its headquarters to New Delhi, is being transferred to the #Maharashtra govt for Rs 1,601 crore.
The landmark was also one of the targets of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.

Yups and that was not the idea when they made Gill the captain in tests and ODI and SKYs deputy in T20. While the idea was right but played out was completely different. There’s not much wrong that the selectors have done actually in moving out Gill out of the T20 squad at that point in time, but now it’s a bit of a confusing time. 2 white ball captains is not ideal since there are quite a few players who play both formats. What would have been ideal is Shreyas Iyer as the white ball captain & Gill as the red ball captain
