Thanks to JACC Case Reports for publishing our paper on Real-Time IVUS Guided (RTIG) Ostial Stenting: A Step-by-Step Guide.
5 years of work from benchtop models, microCTs to a now standard part of our practice. Hope someone finds it helpful!

Very sad to hear of the sudden death of Dr Andrew Flapan, Consultant Cardiologist in Edinburgh.
As a young doctor he was a major inspiration to me.
Later, I had a great dinner with him at @RCPEdin the night before I gave a lecture.
A great loss 😢
Today we’re excited to announce our 2024 research recipients. Every year the Heart Foundation invests in vital heart research and specialist training to improve the heart health of New Zealanders. Find out more https://t.co/i9Vc4vAZ8v
@JAHA_AHA@DrDamluji This tweet (and the paper’s conclusions) falsely imply causation when this is merely a correlation within an observational cohort. May I suggest you reconsider the phrasing? Otherwise a casual observer may deduce a much higher statin-associated risk of diabetes than seen in RCTs.
Extremely proud of my student Tom Pirker who won the Young Investigator Award. Strong competition indeed, NZ cardiac research is looking very bright👏👏👏. Thanks for the tweet @lund_mayanna, thanks @CSANZ_NZ and @HeartNZ.
With Young Investigator Award winner Thomas Pirker. A wonderful win in a terrific competition - the future of cardiac research in Aotearoa is looking good. @CSANZ_NZ @selwyn_wong @martinkstiles @rawirimj

Ten Years Of TAVI in Scotland . Great way to mark this important milestone @RCPEdin Brilliant discussions around the detection of AS, the TAVI MDT and sharing of TF and Alt Access TAVI cases. @RIECathLab well done.
Not many investigator-initiated RCTs in valve disease
Early balloon mitral valvuloplasty (BMV) no different to medical management for asymptomatic patients with mod-severe mitral stenosis

@lamelaspablo@yourheartdoc1 Obviously ultrasound is excellent for safe femoral puncture but are you saying that you use US to guide Proglide deployment? What’s the technique?
@VictorDayan1@SripalBangalore I initially thought this too but I’m not sure it’s actually correct. Forest plots group according to baseline characteristics, not treatments performed after randomisation. What would be the comparator group?
