This is the reality of COVID in pregnancy. A 28 week pregnant mom requiring significant oxygen support who cannot walk or eat. Her team has a scalpel taped to the ICU door in case of acute decompensation and need for bedside crash cesarean delivery.
Today, I met the people who saved my life.
I’ve been tweeting about my cardiac arrest since I woke up in the ICU and re-downloaded twitter (@LGlaucomflecken deleted it for my own safety and concluded that if I could figure out how to get it back, I was safe to tweet again)
Why has Family Medicine not rebranded telemedicine as modern House Calls? That’s legit what they are. I get to talk to the whole family, see their living environment, review medications (didn’t have to remember to bring them in), & patients don’t have to travel to and wait on me.

@RealDoctorMike@YouTube@ytcreators Congrats on this interview! And thank you for being a voice of the medical community that has the ability to reach so many people with factual information instead of pseudoscience

We have too many administrators in healthcare. 10 for every 1 physician.
I think we could better use that money to hire more essential staff, provide adequate PPE, and possibly even fund more residency positions across the US.
The time is NOW for big changes in medicine.
It’s 2am and all I can think about is that in hospitals and clinics across America, my friends and colleagues are going to war against #COVID19 with no protection. Would we ever accept sending soldiers into battle without armor? (1/x)
These random people held up signs for us outside our ED today and gave me hope again. Then, I cried for the first time during all of this. Thank you, random strangers, your kindness means more than you can know. 🙏
The page I got early yesterday AM. We are all in. All of us. Thank you for doing your part, whether it is in the hospital or staying safe at home or fighting to #GetMePPE or tests or keeping supply chains operational & our kids fed. We throw down together against the virus.
First day on service as covid attending @UCSF. Everyone in masks and at the 10 am Emergency room huddle, clear instructions, & air of commitment and purpose. We ended with chaplain saying we are ordinary people doing sacred work. The solidarity and service mindset is palpable.
Currently, women outnumber men in medical school, and we want to introduce you to a group of trailblazing moms who are changing the face of surgery one stitch at a time.
An ER physician diagnosed with #covid19 is giving details on Twitter of what it’s like to have #Coronavirus. Follow him @yaletung for an interesting perspective. To all healthcare workers on the frontline- THANK YOU! #medtwitter
