@mbta_fan @regularjune Did you not see the word upgraded in my tweet. I think every red line stop on the Braintree branch should have been commuter rail instead. You’d have double track all the way to south station, it would have rocked compared to what it is now
Hi kids, just popping into say that ALL sounds from an U/S are manufactured. That's why it's called Ultrasound, humans cannot detect it. So when you say you can hear a heartbeat a 6 weeks you are an uninformed dolt.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
I am grateful to the red line shuttle buses for making it more obvious to drivers just how many people the red line carries and why public transit benefits them too.
@WelcomeToDot I am a parent of young children and this has nothing to do with having children but it’s also ok to give your family (the parents of the 1 yo) the weirdo thing they deeply want and it counts as your gift to them for whenever their next birthday is
You don’t put a bunch of fabric, buttons, zippers, and thread into a machine, press a button, and then a dress comes out. Human hands are involved at every stage of the process, especially the actual sewing together of the garment.
I’ve gotten a lot of new followers lately, so it’s a good day to urgently remind everyone that ALL clothing is handmade. It doesn’t matter if it’s a $2 t-shirt or $20,000 couture, someone had to make it. We don’t have automatic clothes-sewing machines.
Hi! Heat wave picketers, would you like some tips on increasing your heat tolerance?
I'm an endurance rider, which means I do a sport that requires me to sometimes exercise in up to 120-degree temperatures for hours at a time.
Heat tolerance is not fixed—you can build it.
Curious: do folks realize that Americans owe almost as much on their cars ($1.5 trillion) as they do on their student loans ($1.7 trillion)? Why do you think so many people consider the latter a national crisis, but not the former?
@deniswirtz @Lola_UMich @MIT@Caltech@JohnsHopkins@UCBerkeley@Stanford@Yale@Penn@Cornell University of Illinois does not take legacy status into account. “To promote fairness, we do not consider legacy/donor status, financial need, demonstrated interest, social media presence...” https://t.co/39GdIfO7kP
Which US university does not take legacy status into account.
It’s a very short list. Here are some:
1. MIT
2. Caltech
3. U.C. Berkeley
4. Johns Hopkins U.
5. U. Washington
6. Cooper Union
Any other university?
(Vast majority of public universities are not on that list)
