The melanin this melA gene I tweaked for plant expression is so pretty! Left, BL21 cells expressing a plant-optimized tyrosinase. Right, BL21 cells carrying same plasmid minus melA gene. Despite all the tweaks it made such a deep saturated hue! A step closer to obsidian petals!
