NEW: The Health Secretary @wesstreeting has promised he will deliver a compensation scheme for victims of Sodium Valproate and pelvic mesh before the next General Election
Q is whether that will be too late for many - it's been 2 years since "urgent" payments were recommended:
❌❌We are calling for a pause of rectopexy mesh ops,we asked the MHRA who are reviewing,we campaigned so patients can be seen in the mesh centres,

My interview with @PSCommissioner Henrietta Hughes today, sharing frustration at lack of recompense for victims of #valproate#pelvicmesh and #primodos. Labour voices were very supportive in opposition - in Govt, silence. https://t.co/siCYCvK8xN
Those harmed by #pelvicmesh and #valproate deserve proper redress & have been waiting too long. The Patient Safety Commissioner is right to call for the government to respond in full to the Hughes report as soon as possible.

Baroness Merron met with mesh ‘campaigners‘ on the 17th December which included me as Action for Mesh Injured Patients.
An element of what I said is here attached - to include the worrying new research from Sheffield University which identified #thermoplastic #polypropylene #mesh degrades internally 60 days post implanting and further, the mesh plastic fragments migrates to other tissues post 180 days which is just over 5 months.
The mesh injured have endured catastrophic injury and appalling ‘no skills’ partial removals which has left us with migrating plastic fragments FOR DECADES
This New research identifies the total abandonment of moral duty to patients by the MHRA due them not identifying this initially
