@jmaxmann@GovSherrillNJ As a professional planner licensed in the state of New Jersey and a member of my borough's planning board, this proposal has merit. Planning Boards should focus on PLANNING. Site plan reviews where there are no variances of any type isn't planning.
@Colleenallreds@alexfromNJ When did NJTRANSIT determine that the Meadowlands to Secaucus express bus wouldn't be built in time for the World Cup? For a few years, the agency touted it as a significant part of moving people to Metlife Stadium for the games.
@CJGriffinEsq@Joanhussey1 Yup! I was trying to help my daughter with her homework (6th grade), and the topic was human nutrients and vitamins. All the content for the assignment was on the chromebook. The content was in a video. She spent more time fidgeting over playing the video than learning. Grr
@upzonenj Assemblyman Macurdy's bill says the new Transportation Authority of New Jersey (which would be the merged NJTA and NJT) would be an instrumentality of the state. That wasn't enough for SCOTUS. OTOH, the new authority would sit within NJDOT. So...π€·ββοΈ

@eaconner@jim_mcgreevey@SolomonforJC@EducationalGil1@Streets_PAC_NJ What's really crazy is that NJTRANSIT is studying how to improve the local bus service in Hudson County. NJT generally seems to act as a non-interested party to these conversations. It seems very odd and disappointing. https://t.co/6jMRD7p8PO
@evangoldin@UrbanCourtyard And yes, backyards are not possible with alleys for car parking. This homeowner built a roof deck over their garage and stairs for access.
@evangoldin@UrbanCourtyard I stayed in this neighborhood of Chicago over the summer. The back alleys elimate driveways/curb cuts and create a pleasant streetscape.
@mattyglesias Maybe you are joking, but I read that there were many amusement parks built during the late 19th century. I used to live on the former grounds of one. I also visited a neighborhood in Chicago recently where an amusement park once existed. More amusement parks are a good thing!
@alexfromNJ The HP aftercare contractor Champion (part of Kindercare) has a new policy prohibiting school-age children from self dismissal to walk home. HP kids walk everywhere in our town. I wonder how badass Asher should be if I said, "Be like Alex!" LOL
@upzonenj 100% agree. Perhaps if the stadium was under private ownership? Rutgers football and university associated events could be part of a sale/leasing deal, but the profit motive would be strong enough to override local stakeholder objections.
@BBKogan This is very helpful. It also makes sense. I'm a transportation planner at an agency that programs federal transportation funds. There's the IIJA, but then there's still annual appropriations that have to pass congress.
