And the final one in Manchester United’s greatest players: No 1, Sir Bobby Charlton.
Thanks for reading this summer.

New Premier League season kicks off in less than an hour and it's 3 and a half years since the PL charged Man Cit with 115 alleged breaches of PL rules and almost 2 years since disciplinary hearing concluded. Absolutely ridiculous that there's been zero transparency on this 1/n
As someone living in Kyiv, I’m begging you:
Please help us stop this.
Almost every night, russia strikes Kyiv with ballistic missiles, hitting civilians, homes, and warehouses.
We can’t stop these missiles because we don’t have enough Patriot systems.
People are dying.
Please don’t look away. Share what’s happening in Ukraine. Help us save lives.
It's over, Gianni. Infantino’s plan to invite venture capitalists to buy a stake in the World Cup and other FIFA tournaments is dead in the water. It's over. CONCACAF follows UEFA in rejecting his divisive plan. So that’s 41 + 55 national associations of the 211 against. So far. Strong statement from CONCACAF, echoing UEFA’s. "CONCACAF is a confederation united by the love of our game, where football comes first. Guided by this philosophy over the past 10 years we have built, from the ground up, an organization founded on service, transparent governance, and the long-term stewardship of football. History has shown FIFA and the football family what happens when the custodians of the game lose sight of these values.”
The confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football convened meeting of its 41 members to discuss the “FIFA Forward Enterprise”, Infantino’s plan “to sell interests in the FIFA World Cup to private investors”.
Infantino’s handling of the process, rushing decision-making, drew criticism. “During the meeting, the membership expressed deep concerns about the lack of due process surrounding the proposal, the artificially short deadline imposed, and the absence of any review or approval by the relevant FIFA governance bodies. In addition, the need for private equity investment to fund new and existing FIFA Forward programs following the most profitable FIFA World Cup in history was questioned. The discussion reinforced the need for greater transparency and proper governance.”
So CONCACAF and its 41 members…
“Rejected the proposal;
Tasked their FIFA Council Members with engaging FIFA to determine how existing FIFA reserves could be used to increase FIFA Forward funding for football development across our region;
And tasked their FIFA Council Members with instructing the FIFA President to ensure that any matter follows the proper governance processes via staff and FIFA Council, in accordance with the FIFA Statutes.
“Through these actions, CONCACAF reaffirms that football's future - and its greatest asset - must remain in the hands of our football family.” 🙌🙌
Russia is a terrorist state.
I'm sure our strong condemnation would deter it, right?
While Russians feel safe to film their warehouses being pummeled by drones- Russia targets civilians.
Air defence.
Designate Russia as terrorist state.
Ban Schengen entry.
Cut it off.
Thank you, Europe, for strongly condemning Russian attacks for over four years.
Heart-wrenching footage: Residents of Lviv help clear the rubble of a high-rise building where people remain trapped following Russian attacks.
How do you get the 211 member associations to vote to sell off Fifa's competitions?
Offer them $20m in the next funding cycle - two and a half times the expected $8m. And even more after that.
It would be a shock if it doesn't go through.

@DGBeswick1 Looked a pretty good wicket, live and in person. Similar feedback from players and umpires. Good and consistent bounce, no demons.
There so much you can do when the same team batting first get rolled up for 150-odd.
From @TheAthleticFC: Argentina disgraced themselves and the World Cup final with their charmless petulance, our columnist writes. It was "a tetchy, petulant and distasteful performance by the now deposed world champions." https://t.co/3X3DTE9PFe

England is severely allergic to technical midfielders, which other teams put a premium on.
Scholes, Carrick and now Mainoo would be prized commodities for other continental teams.
England had two most expensive midfielders on the pitch and they couldn't hold possession.

I love football. I love late drama. I love comebacks. I love knowing that anything is possible and feeling like we’re watching a steady stream of some of the greatest games ever. I do not love how we are expected to ignore the inconsistencies in officiating and the interventions from VAR, which have largely been heavily weighted towards certain teams and its players. If you’ve watched and followed everything in this World Cup and are still subscribed the idea that it’s all fair, delusionville must be a lovely place to reside.
Azteca by far the best stadium, travesty that the Final won't be played here.
Mexican fans= awesome atmosphere.
English team + fans + Wonderwall = goosebumps
Norway has got to be everybody's second team now. Incredible both, on and off the field.
