@dizzidi67 No we don't - we're all covered by the EU's EHIC card which entitles EU citizens to healthcare under the same terms of nationals of the country they're visiting or living in. And if you pay taxes in a country, you should get healthcare on the same terms as its nationals. End of.
EU rationale is 4-fold imo:
1) UK will cave
2) If UK doesn't cave before 29/03, it will cave when it experiences no-deal
3) If UK doesn't cave, all blame for hard border will be on UK
4) EU has held the line so firmly that it now damages long-term EU credibility for EU to cave.
