He’s saying ‘if you spend more time around x, you’re more likely to do things associated with x’.

It’s just obviously true. Being in a car often doesn’t excuse road rage, and being around a child doesn’t exclude murder, obviously.

But if men have 3x the time in cars, and 2x the road rage incidents, that tells us something meaningful. Same applies to infanticide: when comparing men and women, you need to account for relative time spent with kids. Harsh but no less truth than for road rage.

I guess there’s a difference between language and culture, to play devils advocate. Someone could care about Wales deeply & feel 100% Welsh, but not care about the language.

The attitude is a bit surprising tho. I’m 100% British with no part that’s culturally or ethnically Welsh. Still, I would be mortified if Welsh, the truest descendant of our old language, the one we spoke before the invasions, were to die out.
