Plural

Plural is an early-stage investment fund for the most ambitious founders on a mission to change the world through technology.

[Plural @pluralplatform]

In 2000 the US and Europe held 46% of the global PCB market. Today it’s ~6%.

@CircuitHub's Grid is changing that: it already builds tens of millions of dollars of electronics a year, twice as fast as Shenzhen - and capacity will scale 5x this year.

[Andrew Seddon @seddonandrew]

PCBs made in America. Twice as fast as Shenzhen.

Today @CircuitHub is unveiling The Grid, our factory-scale robot in Massachusetts that builds circuit boards on demand.

No changeovers, no per-design setup. Prototypes and production batches, fully automated.

[Callosum @CallosumAI]

Our CTO @achterbrain joined @nvidia on stage at the start-up day of GTC Berlin, alongside Clara Cornu, @talfanevans, @nouralhassan and Matteo Sarcinella.

He discussed how Callosum runs heterogeneous workloads efficiently across every generation and type of NVIDIA hardware, and what it takes to scale new technology companies fast in Europe.

Thanks for having us @nvidia

Non-competes and long notice periods are holding back the next generation of British tech. With OLIX, @CallosumAI, @Orbital_Ind and @inherent_labs, we're asking the UK Government to limit them.

1/ Today we’re launching an open letter calling on the government to end unfair restrictions that stop Britain’s best switching jobs or starting companies.

UK AI companies that have raised $5bn agree: our best should be free to start and scale. 🧵

Interesting to see who is backing the most ambitious hardware startups in Europe -- @pluralplatform @PartnersVenture @eqtventures @vsquareventures @HV_Capital @generalcatalyst @VisionariesClub

It's a year since I moved to NYC, so we're on Times Square for today's launch of @arcjet's new agent runtime security:

Three new capabilities, available now:

1. Observe: discover all your agents, wherever they're running, with no code changes and nothing to deploy

2. Enforce: apply controls before and after every action. Apply deterministic policies to tools, APIs, database calls, and other inputs/outputs. Detect prompt injection, wrap tools in safety guardrails, limit API access, and protect PII

3. Audit: collect the evidence for security reviews and compliance audits

[Plural @pluralplatform]

Agentic AI can now take real actions - its mistakes range from clumsy to harmful to malicious.

@Arcjet's new Agent Runtime Security gives engineering teams enforcement as soon as an agent acts, with sequence-aware checks so risky patterns get caught.

[Arcjet @arcjet]

When AI was just a chatbot, the worst thing it could do was be wrong. That is no longer where the risk sits. Today we are announcing Agent Runtime Security.

[Plural @pluralplatform]

“AI is really transforming what you can do ‘in silico’ before you do it in the physical world. That is driving a massive acceleration in those deep-tech fields. So the capital intensity to get those returns has really changed.” @carinanamih in today's @FT: https://t.co/gxfoWo5qY0

[Ian Hogarth @soundboy]

I love how uncompromising Hélène Huby is. One of the most hardcore founders in Europe.

Plural, is by far, one of the most impressive and most interesting VC firms in Europe.

Their mission has always been to back companies that could have a genuine GDP impact in Europe.

If you look at their portfolio they really do back insanely unconventional founders building things that could have a transformational impact for the continent.

Non-obvious bets that they made a few years ago are now doing insanely well.

Across 2026 alone the portfolio has gone on to raise $3.3 billion.

Some of the highlights include:

- @HelsingAI raised $1.8bn
- @ExplorationTEC raised $450m
- @proximafusion raised $468m
- @OLIXComputing raised $220m
- @CallosumAI raised $100m
- @Rivanindustries raised $34m

These companies are leading the way in European defence, space exploration, nuclear fusion, chip design etc... industries which most investors weren't looking at a few years ago but have since become mainstream.

The team have a remarkable knack for predicting future trends.

NICE

@pluralplatform team is made of @soundboy, @seikatsu, @taavet, @carinanamih, @KHelioui, @pierre_dimitri

Today we're announcing our $100m seed round to change how humanity computes 🚀

AI must be far cheaper, faster and more performant than it is today. Co-evolving heterogeneous compute and intelligence is how we do it.

With our round, today we are announcing global partnerships, new technical advances, and the launch of Tailored Inference to optimise tasks, models and hardware simultaneously.

A future of heterogeneous intelligence, built on principles we see in nature, is coming fast. And we're just getting started!

[Ian Hogarth @soundboy]

1/ Very happy to share that @pluralplatform has doubled down on @CallosumAI as part of its $100M Seed round, led by @Atomico with participation from @DCVC and @UKSovereignAI - one of the largest seed rounds ever raised in Europe.

[Seb Johnson @SebJohnsonUK]

Europe wastes around 72 TWh of renewable electricity every year - equivalent to Austria’s annual electricity needs.

This is because we are unable to store wind and solar energy effectively.

However, a European startup now built a battery that can store renewable energy for up to 100 hours, and it has just raised a $43m Series A to roll it out.

The round has been led by @pluralplatform (@soundboy) and @HV_Capital.

The startup - Ore energy, has already signed a 1GWh deal with Budget Thuis, a challenger Dutch-based energy and telecoms utility supplier.

Its pilot projects with EDF have already demonstrated how its technology performs in real-world utility settings.

This could be GAME CHANGING for the European energy market.

Not only is a huge amount of electricity wasted because of our inability to store renewable energy but it is a frequent reason used against investing in more renewables.

Hopefully this will change that.

CONGRATS ALL

[Ian Hogarth @soundboy]

1/ Europe throws away enough renewable electricity every year to power a country the size of Austria. We therefore spend billions every year shutting off cheap, clean power, then pay to burn gas that fills the gap. That's why @pluralplatform is backing Ore Energy.

[Ian Hogarth @soundboy]

The increasing gap between compute and interconnect is the investment thesis behind Oriole Networks. Recommend @LawrenceLundy's excellent blog!

[Salar al Khafaji @salar]

Monumental’s robots have now built the brickwork for a 100 (!) homes, a school, a hotel, a community center, and hundreds of meters of Amsterdam's canal walls. Our pace is compounding: half of everything we've ever delivered went up in the last three months (!!!)

[Salar al Khafaji @salar]

Today, we’re announcing an oversubscribed $32 million round at @BuildMonumental led by @khoslaventures, with participation from @pluralplatform and @HummingbirdVC.

[Sten Tamkivi @seikatsu]

4/ Over the last two years, @BuildMonumental has become one of the most deployed autonomous construction operators in the world, solving a global-scale problem from the heart of Europe.
