Mother Dairy, one of India's largest dairy brands, has unveiled what it claims is the country's first naturally biodegradable milk pouch for its cow milk variant, rolling out across Delhi-NCR from June 5.

The pouch decomposes naturally in soil within a few years into a bioavailable wax-like substance broken down by microbes, without leaving microplastics or toxic residues, unlike conventional LDPE pouches that persist for centuries, ThePrint reports.

The innovation took over 4 years of research and targets "fugitive plastic"—packaging that escapes formal waste collection and recycling systems. The pouches remain recyclable and function like conventional packaging during storage and transport, but if discarded in soil, they degrade into natural elements.

Mother Dairy Chairman Dr Meenesh Shah said the packaging will not affect consumer milk prices. This move sets a benchmark for sustainable packaging in India's dairy sector and tackles one of the country's most persistent forms of litter.

Bengaluru Metro will induct two additional trains on Yellow Line from June 3, increasing the daily fleet to 10 trains.

This will improve peak-hour frequency from 9 minutes to 7 minutes & non-peak frequency from 14 minutes to 10 minutes on weekdays.

On Saturdays and Sundays, trains will run every 10 minutes throughout the day.

First and last train timings from RV Road and Bommasandra stations remain unchanged, BMRCL said @OfficialBMRCL

Today, I went to Lok Bhavan and, in the absence of the Governor, handed over my resignation letter from the post of Chief Minister to the Governor’s Special Secretary.

As someone who was born and brought up in a small village, I had never imagined that one day I would become an MLA, a Minister, the Leader of the Opposition, and serve twice as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. A dream this big became possible only because of the Constitution written by Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

Buddha, Basavanna, Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Mahatma Gandhi have always shown me the path. Through my forty-eight years in public life, I have always tried to stand with honesty beside the poor, the oppressed, the neglected, and those who were denied opportunities in society. That is the greatest satisfaction of my life.

I will forever remain grateful to the party legislators who trusted me and chose me to lead, to my cabinet colleagues who walked with me through every challenge, and to Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Shri Rahul Gandhi, and AICC President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge for believing in me and giving me this responsibility.

But above all, I bow my head before the people of Karnataka, the lakhs of affectionate hearts who treated me as one among their own, blessed me, encouraged me, corrected me, stood by me in difficult times, and held my hand throughout this long journey. Whatever I am today is because of you.

The Constitution is my religion, and the people are my God. My resignation is only from the Chief Minister’s post, not from public life or from my commitment to the people.

Till my last breath, I will continue to fight for social justice and stand against divisive communal forces that go against the spirit of our Constitution.

Thank you for your love, trust, and companionship through every step of this journey. ❤
