.@Arappor alleged that former DMK Minister EV Velu illegally lifted around 45 lakh cubic ft of soil worth Rs 8 crore from Malappambadi lake in Tiruvannamalai.
* The entire government machinery, including the revenue & police depts, favoured Velu in the theft. Police arrested people who protested against the soil theft instead of taking action against those involved.
* The stolen soil was used to fill land belonging to Velu's son EV Kumaran, which ws purchased from a contractor. A DMK party function attended by former Chief Minister MK Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin was held on the land.
* Velu laid a road on the lake bund for the benefit of his family
*Velu illegally discharged water from the lake to facilitate the theft of soil, affecting the waterbody's groundwater recharge potential & the farmers who depend on it.

On 21.07.2026, Namachivayam, Chief Manager, SBI RBO-II, lodged a complaint stating that Adyar SBI-NRI Branch Manager Harsheen Singh had informed the building owner, Kayalvizhi Alagiri, regarding rectification of a faulty lift as her representative failed to respond. Aggrieved by this, Kayalvizhi allegedly visited the branch, abused, assaulted, and threatened the Branch Manager. He has requested necessary action in this regard.

தென்காசி மாவட்டம் கடையம் அருகே கீழக்கடையம் பகுதியில், விவசாய நிலம் மற்றும் ஜம்பு நதிக்கு அருகிலுள்ள அரசு புறம்போக்கு நிலத்தில் சுமார் 10 டன் ஆபத்தான கேரளக் கழிவுகள் சட்டவிரோதமாகக் கொட்டப்பட்டுள்ளன. "கேரளாவிற்குச் சென்று திரும்பும் லாரிகள், அம்மாநிலக் கழிவுகளைத் தமிழ்நாட்டின் கிராமப்புறங்களில் கொட்டிச் செல்வது தொடர்கதையாக உள்ளது. கழிவுகளைக் கொட்டியவர்களைக் கண்டறிந்து, அவற்றை மீண்டும் கேரளாவிற்கே திருப்பியனுப்ப வேண்டும்; சம்பந்தப்பட்டவர்கள் மீது கடும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும்" என அப்பகுத�� மக்கள் வலியுறுத்துகின்றனர். இதுகுறித்து அளிக்கப்பட்ட புகாரின் பேரி��், கடையம் காவல் நிலையப் போலீசார் வழக்குப்பதிவு செய்து தீவிர விசாரணை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.

#KeralaWaste dumping into south Tamil Nadu has resumed. Around 10 tonnes of mixed waste, brought from Kerala, has been found dumped on HR & CE land in Tenkasi district. Tonnes of #KeralaWaste, largely plastic waste, used car parts, seat covers & electrical wires, have allegedly been dumped on govt land at Kadayam in Tenkasi district.

This is major incident since the National Green Tribunal, acting on a TNIE report, directed Kerala to take back tonnes of illegally dumped biomedical waste from several villages in Tirunelveli in December 2024.

In the aftermath, Tamil Nadu amended Goondas Act to enable the preventive detention of those involved in illegal biomedical waste dumping.

Father of a 19-year-old Akash, a TVK member from Surandai who died due to snakebite petitioned Tenkasi Collector demanding action against staff of VK Pudur & Alangulam GH for allegedly not opening the hospital gate for timely treatment. Parents said👇
1. Akash and his cousin (Chinnadurai (14)) were sleeping at his relative's house in the night

2. As they reported severe stomach pain, their parents took them to nearby VK Pudur GH where staff did not open the gate despite their repeated knocking.

3. Both of them were further brought to Alangulam GH located around 20km away. However, staff allegedly refused to open the door.

4. The duo was further taken to a pvt clinic at Alangulam, administered an injection and brought back to Surandai PHC.

5. Surandai PHC sent them to Tenkasi District Government Headquarters Hospital in an ambulance. Doctors said they had been bitten by a snake. The parents checked and allegedly found Common Krait in their room in Surandai.

8. The youths' health condition deteriorated and they were further transported to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

9. Akash remained critical for a week and died at TvMCH.
