disagreed here. the 3 days format of hackathons is redundant and outdated now.

the bliss as a dev participating was to code for 2 nights straight, drinking monster, and giving out scrappy project on the 3rd day (after fixing all errors in last 2 hours before submission). that bliss is taken by ai.

the meritocracy part of: "im a 4x dev, 10x hackathon winner" is taken away by ai. now no one needs to be a dev. u can just build things.

so current hackathons structures are outdated and not for the ai era. what probably matters more is the business side: "is this viable product for next 10 years," "is this ui/ux easier for users in 1 step," "is this really needed in post-ai era" and so on. the questions that hackers ignored are more important now.

which also points me that 1-3 days hackathons are not important. now it needs to be foundership programs for more than a month or two.
