@ruima I think for a lot of 2nd-gen immigrants, learning your parents' language is more about connecting with their culture. An ABC may not need to learn Chinese anymore due to AI progress but learning Chinese can still help him/her resolve some identity issues due to being a minority

Interesting to look at the tariff data on the $18 billion Chinese products of EV, chips, etc. (excl. steel). EV batteries account for 70% of the products. Tariffs on Integrated circuits, gloves, permanent magnets, etc. are all on the hundred-million scale.
