We have multiple open postdoctoral positions in quantum computing theory at the University of Bristol, to work on topics including quantum algorithms, verification of quantum systems, quantum complexity theory, ... - next deadline 18 Jan https://t.co/cisD58Eanw
Thrilled to announce the next stage of our journey. Huge thanks to our stellar team and our amazing investors (@soundboy and many others) - onward to quantum advantage!
@henryquantum@gregrosent Unfortunately, it turned out that there was a bug in Lemma 2.1, and the overall proof isn't correct. We've withdrawn the paper from the arXiv and are thinking about how to fix it.
Can low-depth QAOA provide exponential quantum speedup over the best known classical heuristics on any optimization problems?
Yes! ✅ @quantumashley and I show this in our new paper:
https://t.co/NqdPtP6XU1
which we did while I was a visiting fellow @PhasecraftLtd! (1/6)
@DulwichQuantum Something I particularly like about this example is that the objective function the author has chosen can be minimised using a greedy algorithm :)
@Jun_Gitef17@fortnow I agree this isn't an obvious assumption! But empirically, it seems to me that LLMs already do a decent job of explaining existing scientific papers. But none (to my knowledge) has come up with a breakthrough result itself.
We’re delighted to welcome @S_Flammia to the Phasecraft team! Steve has joined us to open and lead our first US Office in Washington DC: an exciting new stage in Phasecraft's journey!

Phasecraft has been featured in Digital Pioneers: Recording our Future, a documentary series by @bcs exploring the contribution of IT to society.
Watch from 17 mins to learn how we're working to enable the first useful applications of quantum computing.
