Patient-first, America-first: The Case For Global Collaboration
While the rise of Chinese biopharma in the past decade has been meteoric, I’m firmly in the camp that their engagement in the global ecosystem is good for the sector – its more opportunity than threat, great for patients, and is a healthy forcing function to raise the game for everyone

Smart piece.
Getting big is a dangerous thing in drug discovery. Companies often lose what made them great. Lilly knows this! I've talked to them about this. But that doesn't make the transition easy.
American science is at risk.
Biopharma leaders with Trump’s ear: don’t let bootlicking become the methods section and sycophancy the new peer review.
Use your influence. Make the call. Save science.

An appeal to @realDonaldTrump from those of us developing potentially life changing medicines. The next @US_FDA commissioner should have: deep regulatory experience, a track record of reform, and the ability to lead a scientific institution under political & competitive pressure without compromising speed or rigor https://t.co/IQ9Sa3Bw84 Rick Pazdur is one exemplary candidate and the industry looks forward to supporting whoever is appointed. If you are attending 2026 EASL Congress in Barcelona please visit us on May 29 where we will share data with our lead disease-modifying candidate for PSC.
Heading to #EASLCongress 2026? We look forward to connecting with the global liver community & sharing new preclinical data on RTY-406, our dual ABCB4/BSEP #PFMs candidate in development for #PSC & other hepatobiliary diseases. Learn more: https://t.co/NHk3kepPVV
For more than 70 years, British broadcaster and naturalist, Sir David Attenborough has brought nature to our screens.
At 100, he reflects on one unforgettable moment - coming face to face with mountain gorillas in Rwanda.
Here’s that encounter from 1979.
Great work by Rectify Pharma scientists to build a translational model that recapitulates bile-duct injury, inflammation, cholestasis and fibrotic phenotype seen in #PrimarySclerosingCholangitis (PSC).
Our new publication in Liver International Communications demonstrates how partial loss of ABCB4 function causes toxic bile composition and drives inflammation, fibrosis and liver injury. Read more: https://t.co/WBD0sDXGeX

unfort the below is not surprising. we know from our gene therapy investments that to meet fda manufacturing standards for a cell or gene therapy product the absolute bare minimum spend is $50m a year just to maintain the team and manufacturing capabilities you need to check the necessary boxes. that doesn't count the direct costs of actually making and developing a drug (materials, trials, etc).
As someone who has covered cancer drug development for 25 years, one of the few things I am sure of is that the odds of technology folks thinking they understand biology are much higher than the odds they actually do.
#PrimarySclerosingCholangitis brings daily uncertainty and complex challenges for patients and caregivers. Supporting and advocating for this community is essential. Learn more about our work in #PSC: https://t.co/9OQsL11JQh
Big thank you to @r_devraj, Victoria Fort, Greg Frost, and Rachel Humphrey for an outstanding panel discussion on pipeline prioritization at the Longwood Healthcare Leaders #MiamiCEO meeting.
Inspiring conversation about how we can focus innovation and resources on developing transformational medicines that make a real difference for patients.
AI is cool and all... but a new paper in @ScienceMagazine kind of figured out the origin of life?
The paper reports the discovery of a simple 45-nucleotide RNA molecule that can perfectly copy itself.
I don't know how to ask for a moment of silence amid the madness that is X.
But please take a moment to reflect on the heroism of William Foege.
Foege, who died Saturday at 89, was a key architect of the eradication of smallpox using the vaccine. This is one of humanity's great victories over a terrible disease and a triumph of science. If you haven't, go order or download his book, "House on Fire," which chronicles that epic fight. He was head of the CDC from 1977 to 1983.
He was a towering, six-foot-seven reminder that rationality can win against scourges that have beset mankind for all of history.
Today our CEO @r_devraj shared his perspective on the 2026 healthcare & biotech venture outlook in @WSJ ProVenture newsletter, pointing to renewed market confidence, greater focus on de-risked assets, reopening of M&A & IPOs, and regulatory uncertainty as a key challenge.
New research shows over 50% of adults with cholestatic chronic liver disease carry pathogenic variants in bile transporter genes, including ABCB4 and BSEP. This supports why @Rectify Pharma is advancing an oral, dual-targeted ABCB4/BSEP PFM. Read more: https://t.co/fAxye1LTGB
