I have formally submitted a letter to Hon’ble CM Sri @DKShivakumar regarding the proposed ₹15,000–₹25,000 annual fee for roadside vehicle parking in Bengaluru, requesting a comprehensive review in the public interest.

While curbing illegal and long-term street parking is crucial to easing traffic congestion, many middle-class residents in older layouts and smaller homes lack internal parking facilities. Given the rising cost of living, an additional annual parking fee poses a substantial financial strain on everyday citizens.

More Videos Emerge in PSI-MLA’s Daughter Altercation Case; No Arrest Yet

More videos of the altercation between woman PSI Savita B. Patil and Aishwarya, daughter of BJP MLA B. Suresh Gowda, at the Arathi Ukkada temple in Srirangapatna, Mandya, have now emerged.

The incident took place on Bhima Amavasya over an argument regarding entry into the sanctum sanctorum. The newly surfaced videos show the two women engaging in a physical altercation in front of the temple.

Following the incident, PSI Savita Patil filed a complaint at the Kyathanahalli police station. A counter-complaint was also reportedly submitted, but allegations were raised that it was not accepted by the police.

Despite the emergence of multiple videos of the incident, Mandya police have not made any arrests so far.

This is misleading. The two most reformist prime ministers in Indian history were PV Narasimha Rao and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and the only period that market liberals held a clear advantage over statists was 1991-2004.

Since 2004 India has reverted to the mean—a bureaucracy-heavy economy whose political class is constantly buffeted by populist pressures on the one hand and well-connected business lobbies on the other. Growth started slowing around 2011 and never regained its peak growth trajectory of the oughts.

Does this mean it’s all doom and gloom? No. India has made genuine gains in poverty reduction, improved infrastructure, and grown the middle class considerably in absolute numbers over the past two decades. (Though it still remains a small fraction of the population.) But it’s also true that 35 years after liberalization the Indian dream of catching up with East Asia has faltered badly. By some accounts the problems of joblessness and corruption faced by ordinary Indians in daily life have only worsened.

How Indian politics and society reacts to these realities will in many ways be the primary drama that unfolds in the subcontinent over the coming years.

During Amit Shah’s tenure as BJP president, the party created 19 departments, including new ones focusing on library, documentation and strengthening good governance. He also launched six major organisational projects, including swachh bharat. similar structural changes are expected this time.

Several rounds of consultations between the bjp leadership and the RSS have taken place ahead of the announcement.
