@sgodofsk In the US, it's only Congress which is prohibited from making a law privileging or disrepecting a religion. Nothing is said about state governments doing so, and some state governments had such laws at the time and continued to have them.

@HermanPontzer Summary basically says that in humans, total energy usage only increases 30% of the additive model (~70% "compensation"). Dieting makes compensation higher, while resistance training reduces compensation. In animals on a diet, compensation is about 100%.

@ZyMazza I skimmed the paper, and it seems clear that if I don't necessarily agree that rabbits are people, the conclusion misses me.

I suspect that once we have a real, testable explanation for consciousness, all this philosophy will seem not even wrong.
