By passing this extreme $70B immigration bill, @HouseGOP caved to Trump yet again. In the last year and a half alone, Republicans have unilaterally given Trump’s lawless DHS nearly a quarter TRILLION dollars with no restrictions, guardrails or oversight.
@HouseDemocrats asked for basic safeguards to ensure transparency, oversight, and accountability of ICE’s inhumane, lawless actions.
Yet the GOP chose loyalty to Trump over responsibility to the American people. Because that’s what they always do.
Trump’s temper tantrum when pressed for evidence of his baseless allegations is the classic behavior of a guilty defendant who withers under basic cross-examination. His entire platform is built on conspiracy theories that disintegrate the moment he is challenged to provide proof.
What was so telling was the rage Trump showed when a journalist did not cower from his bullying. Trump operates like a mob boss using threats, fear and intimidation, but when you stand up to bullies, they can’t handle it.
That’s how you beat Donald Trump.
Here's the full chain of events that led to Trump storming out of his interview with Kristin Welker, beginning with her pressing him on the weaponization fund, continuing with her pointing out the baselessness of his "rigged election" lies, and concluding with him calling her "crooked or stupid" and leaving
The Administration tried to impose a staggering $100K fee on H-1B visas, essentially taxing the very hospitals, universities, and small businesses that rely on specialized talent to fill critical shortages and harming our local economies.
And once again, a federal court had to remind the Trump admin how our Constitution works.
@realdonaldtrump: if you want to change the law, you have to go through Congress.
Breaking News: A federal judge rejected the Trump administration’s policy of imposing $100,000 fees on employers for skilled worker visas. https://t.co/EDEqaRvqtX
DOGE’s weaponization of the Social Security Administration is a staggering abuse of government power that demands investigation.
The Trump admin is so disgustingly hellbent to advance its anti-immigrant agenda that it planned to falsely declare 2.7M living immigrants, permanent residents, and citizens as dead just to cut off their wages and banking.
Can @elonmusk explain how mass identity fraud is “efficient?”
Breaking news: The Trump administration had plans to classify 2.7 million living people — including some U.S. citizens and lawful residents — as dead as part of its immigration enforcement efforts, according to a former senior Social Security executive. https://t.co/2aBY6bPI4y
The American people don’t care whether @RealTomHoman enjoyed his lunch.
What matters is whether people who are lawfully here yet still detained by our government have access to adequate medical care, safe living conditions, and basic human dignity – and they do not at Delaney Hall.
@DHSgov must release anyone with a lawful immigration application who has no criminal record.
“The spaghetti was good."
White House border czar Tom Homan told @camiloreports the Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey is “not a five-star resort" with "five-star cuisine," but that it is a “well-run” facility with decent meals.
He said he ate with detainees during a recent visit and that there were several options. Homan made the remarks after reports of substandard conditions and hunger strikes at the detention center.
Our volunteer coalition immediately brought the family to my office’s triage center and my team sprung into action. Within minutes, one of my staff members demanded his belongings from ICE while @NYLAG prepared an emergency lawsuit and his kids had a snack and played games.
Realizing they could not defend the arrest in court, ICE quickly released him to his family.
They knew they broke the law. Aggressive congressional oversight and legal advocacy are our best defense against this administration's lawless dragnet. (2/2)
.@ICEgov thought they could get away with breaking the law in broad daylight today. They were wrong.
This morning, I confronted ICE agents outside an immigration court room to remind them that they are prohibited from arresting anyone who appears as required at immigration court. They didn’t seem to care and arrested a father outside of the courtroom right in front of his wife and two young kids. (1/2)
.@HouseGOP just blocked my commonsense amendments to require DHS officials to identify themselves and protect due process.
If Republicans are pouring billions more into ICE and CBP over Democrats’ objections, the bare minimum requirement should be basic transparency. My amendments simply required DHS agents to visibly display credentials during operations and banned lawless courthouse arrests.
But as usual, Republicans voted to shield federal overreach from the law.
UPDATE: I was honored to erase from our triage clinic’s white board the 42nd detainee released and reunited with his family — a young man I met when I visited Delaney Hall two weeks ago.
As the Trump administration weaponizes immigration courts and expedites cases without regard to due process, our district triage center is holding the line to stand up for the rule of law and human dignity.
Thank you to my dedicated staff and our relentless partners who refuse to let our immigrant communities face this terror alone.
While the detention center at 26 Federal Plaza is largely back to operating as a processing facility, across the street at 290 Broadway, mega master hearings are proceeding with over 500 immigration cases on the docket today alone.
It is no secret that our immigration court system has been weaponized by Trump to target our immigrant neighbors. When @HouseDemocrats retake control, we must pass my bill to create an independent immigration court that is no longer at the mercy of whoever is in the White House.
I will continue my weekly oversight visits to make sure federal agencies follow both the law and court orders.
.@DAGToddBlanche is saying it plainly: he is not interested in protecting American’s rights or upholding the rule of law.
His only priority is protecting the President and his cronies – including building legal and financial escape hatches for them.
What happened to “law and order,” @HouseGOP?
The people harmed by this xenophobic and racist policy weren’t those trying to cheat the system. They were the people who followed every rule, submitted every document, and paid every fee they were required to.
Judge McConnell’s ruling is an important reminder that @DHSgov and @SecMullinDHS seem to always forget: the government cannot simply pick and choose which laws it gets to enforce just because they want to force their own discriminatory political agendas.
Breaking News: A federal judge said the Trump administration must restart applications for asylum and other immigration processing. https://t.co/J6qdEVUSM9
I am praying for the victims of last night's horrific knife attack at Penn Station, and I am incredibly grateful to the Amtrak Police for their swift response.
Tragedies like this are exactly why I introduced the bipartisan Michelle Go Act. We must expand access to psychiatric care for those who cannot otherwise afford it so that individuals suffering from severe mental illness get treatment before tragedy strikes. It's time for Congress to pass it.
Immigrant voter fraud isn’t a real issue.
Trump’s DOJ has just 90 open investigations nationwide out of 160 million voters. This is proof our system works.
Ordering prosecutors to “get creative” to inflate these microscopic numbers is a weaponized, taxpayer-funded PR stunt to justify a voter suppression agenda and lay a pretext for trying to overturn the election.

Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and the ultra-wealthy shouldn’t get to live tax-free by treating their massive stock portfolios like a personal ATM. If you use your wealth like cash, you should pay taxes on it like anyone else.
Pleased to have @SenRubenGallego leading the fight in the Senate to push my ROBINHOOD Act. Together, we are pushing for change that protects working people and forces the ultra-wealthy to finally pay their fair share.
The 25 richest Americans paid pay an average tax rate of 3.4 percent. A teacher pays more than that. So does a waitress, a plumber, a nurse. Here’s how they pull it off, and here’s how my bill is going to stop it. 👇
UPDATE: After @RepJasonCrow@SenCortezMasto@SenAlexPadilla and I led 70 of our colleagues in calling out @SecKennedy for unlawfully withholding pay from legal aid orgs representing vulnerable kids, we are hearing reports that HHS is finally beginning to process payments.
HOWEVER, HHS is still trying to condition these payments on lawyers handing over sensitive, confidential data about these migrant children.
Legal providers cannot—and must not—be compelled to violate ethical obligations to get paid.
Stop the extortion!!
🚨 HAPPENING NOW: The Trump administration is withholding pay from lawyers for unaccompanied migrant children unless they hand over confidential case data on the kids they represent.
82 years ago, Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, risking everything to crush fascism and Nazi tyranny.
Today, as we honor their ultimate sacrifice, we must remember that the fight to protect our democracy is never truly over. We must always stand united against hate, authoritarianism, and any threat to our fundamental rights.
For over a year, Trump’s illegal tariff scheme hurt our small businesses and raised prices for American consumers.
Yet like clockwork, Trump is trying to stiff working people and bypass a Supreme Court ruling.
You cannot claim to support American workers and businesses while actively shaking them down and withholding $166B that belongs to them. @realdonaldtrump must pay back every dime.
NEW: Tariff refunds are kinda a mess. TLDR: The Trump admin wants some importers to file individual lawsuits to get back money (totaling billions). And the feds are trying to shield the top customs official from having to testify. More to come today. https://t.co/C9rVGe5Fkw
Online sports betting has skyrocketed into a $220B annual industry, with over half of young men having an active account with an online sportsbook.
Gambling addiction is an invisible crisis tearing at families, finances, and mental health, yet the federal government is doing nothing to address the issue.
That’s why @RepBlakeMoore and I introduced the bipartisan Gambling Disorder Health Study Act - to force a comprehensive federal investigation into the long-term effects of this betting boom and develop real intervention strategies because it’s time for common-sense accountability.

.@DAGToddBlanche has already violated his oath of office by:
- Covering up the Epstein Files
- Greenlighting absurd and baseless prosecutions targeting Trump’s political foes
- Manipulating the judicial system to set up a $1.8 billion slush fund in taxpayer dollars to fund Trump’s allies
- Exempting Trump and his family from IRS audits
Now, Trump wants to make him the permanent AG.
He should be fired, not hired.
President Trump said at a dinner at the White House that he plans to nominate Todd Blanche formally on Thursday, according to a video of the event posted on social media by a White House aide. https://t.co/CP8cUmV9P0
