I had a great time today at the Lebanon County Fair, one of Central Pennsylvania’s oldest celebrations of our farming heritage.
While it’s always great to see families enjoying the rides, food, and entertainment, what stands out most is the opportunity to celebrate Pennsylvania agriculture and the hardworking farmers and producers who help keep our Commonwealth strong.
Big thanks to Mike Firestine for joining me on the fairgrounds to chat with a few old friends and meet some new ones.
Last evening, I had a great time at the Schuylkill County Fair, taking part in the annual Celebrity Tractor Pull. It was a pleasure to be joined by Schuylkill County Commissioners Larry Padora and Boots Hetherington, Sheriff Shawn Butler, and Pottsville Mayor Tom Smith.
A sincere thank you to the Schuylkill County Fair Association and especially President Paul Kennedy, for putting together another outstanding fair. Year after year, this event showcases the very best of Schuylkill County’s agricultural community and the hardworking families who make it so special. It’s a tradition we’re proud to celebrate, and I always enjoy being a part of it.
Dr. Fauci didn’t answer a single question in today’s Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing because he knows he can't tell the truth. He knows that he engaged in disinformation and misled the American people.
It took a subpoena issued by the Senate Homeland Security Committee to get him to even appear.
Today, I joined National Report on @Newsmax to discuss the fallout from Dr. Fauci’s actions during the COVID pandemic. Watch 🔻🔻

It was a productive week here in Washington before heading back home for the district work period.
The House passed my bipartisan Main Street Capital Access Act, which will help free up our local community banks to better serve Arkansas's entrepreneurs, businesses owners, and farmers.
I was also pleased to join Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairman Dan Meuser as we released our Committee staff report, "Fighting Back: A Policy Framework for Combating the Rise of Financial Fraud & Scams."
Financial fraud is one of the fastest-growing threats facing Americans, costing consumers and financial institutions billions of dollars each year.
As Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, protecting Americans from financial fraud remains one of my highest priorities. This report is another important step as we work to combat fraud.
This week, I met an impressive young man from Philadelphia in Washington.
Jax Bari has Celiac Disease, and is advocating for common sense solutions to make foods safer for people like him.
Thank you Jax for your activism and advocacy for Americans with Celiac. You have a bright future ahead of you.
"It's three, maybe four times worse than it was just five years ago." - Congressman Dan Meuser (R-PA) (@RepMeuser) on Congress cracking down on financial fraud.
Financial fraud has become a booming criminal business, and Americans are the primary target.
Nearly 15 million people were scammed last year, totaling an estimated $196 billion. Senior losses have quadrupled since 2020, with the average senior victim losing $83,000. Tragically, 1 in 4 victims of serious scams contemplate suicide.
These alarming statistics got @FinancialCmte Chairman @RepFrenchHill and myself involved. We convened roundtables with banks, telecom companies, social media platforms, DOJ, FBI, FTC, FCC, the Fed, and state AGs — bringing everyone who touches this problem to the same table.
I also launched https://t.co/RBzHlY0QWt so constituents have one place to recognize and report a scam before it costs them everything.
That yearlong investigation has culminated in our subcommittee’s staff report, entitled “Fighting Back.” It exposes how scamming has become an organized, for-profit industry, much of it run by Chinese-linked criminal networks operating scam compounds across Southeast Asia. The report concludes with solutions to fight back, including my legislation, the SCAM Act, and other bills that hold bad actors accountable and coordinate agencies to stop scams before they start. Watch my interview with @VarneyCo detailing the report’s findings below.
ICYMI: Yesterday, the Committee hosted a fireside chat featuring Chairman @RepFrenchHill and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairman @RepMeuser to highlight the Committee's work to combat financial fraud and scams. Fraudsters and scammers steal tens of billions of dollars from Americans every year. These scams are becoming more sophisticated, and Congress must ensure regulators, law enforcement, and the private sector coordinate their efforts to combat these crimes.
As Chairman of the @FinancialCmte Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, I’ve made stopping scams a priority. Today, we are releasing our fraud and scams staff report to identify the biggest risks facing American consumers and provide a framework for an all-of-ecosystem approach to defend against this rapidly evolving threat.
