I’m glad the world is waking up to the power of decentralized social networks and portable social graphs.

Unfortunately Mastadon is absolutely horrific for this use case. Your identity can be deleted at the whim of an admin. Your private messages are also completely available for them to view. People’s identities wiped out for arbitrary reasons such as “being a capitalist”.

Decentralized technologies like blockchains and immutable, permanent storage protocols fix this and will ultimately win at the infrastructure layer.
