AI’s next bottleneck is power. @dfjgrowth is thrilled to back @ambrosiaenergy, building modular, off-grid solar + battery plants for AI workloads. Honored to partner with Benjamin Longmier @longmier, Sara Spangelo @sara_spangelo, & the Ambrosia team.

Weeeelllll, I guess @Starlink Mobile is doing something right! It’s David and Goliath (X3) all over again — I’m bettin’ on David :)

Getting to space was step one.

Tom Mueller @lrocket helped power SpaceX to orbit. Now, with Impulse Space @GoToImpulse, he's solving the harder problem — moving through space with the precision it demands.

Fun time chatting defense tech investing with @StevenSimoni on @DroneUltimatum Podcast - thanks for having me!

We cover what we @dfjgrowth look for as long time VCs in the category, how the battlefield is changing and the pressing need for defense innovation (shout out to portcos @SpaceX @anduriltech @VannevarLabs @hiddenlevelinc @GoToImpulse), & how startups can most effectively partner and scale w the government.

Space-based data centers make total sense, especially with low cost launch and high mass to orbit via Starship.

The sun offers a free, abundant and clean energy source that can be harnessed through massive solar arrays to power satellite AI data centers.

The climate in space offers a natural source of cooling & ventilation for AI compute clusters.

Then you launch a constellation of solar-powered satellites that have have embedded power and cooling advantages. The satellites each house a GPU farm for AI computing/processing. The satellites will have high frequency up and downlinks plus wideband laser crosslinks to create the ultimate AI network.

And voila…you have a AI compute system in space that serves the massive genAI demand of humanity.

[Elon Musk @elonmusk]

@PeterDiamandis With the advent of Starship, there is finally a path to solar-powered AI satellites at massive scale.

It is the only path I can see that would allow for deployment of 1TW/year of AI.

[Gwynne Shotwell @Gwynne_Shotwell]

I can’t wait to go to the Moon!

[DFJ Growth @dfjgrowth]

Today, we’re proud to back @Modular $250 million Series C financing and its mission to build AI’s unified compute layer.

[Randy Glein @rglein]

So excited for @dfjgrowth be joining the @GoToImpulse team after knowing Tom Mueller since the earliest days of SpaceX. After joining the SpaceX family 16 years ago, we’ve been looking for another opportunity to participate in the intersection of the emerging space economy and the innovation economy. Impulse is it — delivering transformative advancement in propulsion and space vehicle technologies. They are making responsive in-orbit mobility a reality for space logistics and space defense applications. Ad astra!

[Impulse Space @GoToImpulse]

We’ve raised a $300M Series C to #MobilizeSpace. 🚀

It’s one of the largest venture rounds in space industry history—and it means we’re growing our team and scaling production to keep accelerating in-space mobility.

Since our founding in 2021, we’ve flown two successful Mira missions, signed over 30 commercial and government contracts, and maintained our timeline to deliver Helios in 2026.

We’re building the infrastructure to move anything, anywhere in space. And we’re just getting started.
