Filmed this a while ago with @CapinUK as a tester for Community Audit, meant to be like Caleb Hammer's Financial Audit with less spice, rage-baiting and shame
If this is of value - let me know, I'm pretty internet awkward and forcing myself to be less shit at content
@EveyNFT great article, it can be very hard for non technical talent being one of them - so much to be fair is around organic relationships and a strong proof-of-work
@julibachi very bullish on privacy, it's always been my favourite area of "crypto" as it's less "pump/dump" and more building real technologies long term
plus they have the best communities as they don't tolerate slop
Agreed - I think online communities across the board (not just crypto) are fully dead. There are a handful of communities that still have mad, lively discords but meh it's just not that interesting anymore.
However, in person, small localised communities are thriving. Every single co-work, workshop, dinner, drinks are oversubscribed - I just think that community needs have changed.
Web3 communities don't need a discord or even a TG but they do need:
- real IRL support for ecosystem projects
- direct IRL introductions with other community members
- regular contact/ visibility
The next big community platform won't be 24/7 I truly believe will be time-boxed (i.e only live on a Thursday or whatever preference serves the team)
@DrNickA I agree - instead of being budget America we should embrace where weโre at - race to have better education, more companies, more talent , I donโt think Iโve worked for a single British company outside of an accountancy firm.
@DrNickA Not even equality lol I donโt think people on UK benefits are having a great time.
We just donโt even want to invest in our own companies or people. TBH I donโt really think we should be heavily taxing work and punishing people for wanting to have a โgood jobโ
@DrNickA Most certainly but if we could just start actually supporting our own talent , that would be great. Truly supporting young people rather than religiously fucking them over
@DrNickA Yeahh I think everyone is basically on a mission to strip mine the UK for whatโs left. On the upside we do have a large skilled workforce that many a company can tap into.
The West in general is having all the same problems so weโre not alone
