We are thrilled to receive these free Australian Geographic books today from DeadlyScience. We are dedicated towards building the next generation of deadly junior scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians.
Our inaugural Literacy Showcase was a huge success, we held parent workshops focussing on Literacy in ECE, Reading and Spelling. Opportunities were also provided for parents to observe Daily Reviews across Years K-1 and Spelling in Years 2-6.
The Rivergums Review aims to close the gap between theory and practice, highlighting the evidence and work of educational key players. This will be distributed to staff and community in Weeks 3 & 8 each term.

Our Music Specialist has been inspired by the work of @TimRasinski1 and shared with staff how she uses repeated reading to make connections between literacy and lyrics. At our recent staff meeting Emma discussed the language of the national anthem.
Year 3 students presented morphology at our latest assembly. They exemplified the vocabulary morpheme, base, affix and how to build words using the matrix. Morphology is in full swing at Rivergums!
Our before school enrichment program, Wise with Words, was off to a great start this morning with our Year 1 and upper primary students focusing on phonemic awareness activities and reading. Well done to everyone for their high level of engagement!

On the twelfth day we celebrate the achievement of RPS students. Providing targeted instructional support based on @acadience Reading and @SWLiteracy diagnostic data has closed the gap. Sounds~Write will be our phonics programme K-1 in 2023.
