Rep Eric Swalwell just said the following in regards to Mike Johnson, FISA and Donald Trump:

“Standing with Trump when it comes to national security means standing with terrorists.”

“Standing with Trump as it relates to Ukraine means standing with Putin.”

“Standing with Trump as it relates to the border means standing with chaos & disorder.”

I think my biggest reason to support FISA is that our enemies and adversaries would benefit significantly without it. I do feel that we could make it better and less risky for ordinary Americans though. I wouldn’t be opposed to changing a few things within the FISA courts.

It's 1864.

It was a time when Black people were enslaved, and women had no rights -- they couldn't even vote.

It was a time when little girls raped by grown men were forced to give birth to their rapist's baby.

It was a time when politicians observed superstitions about things like the eclipse and earthquakes.

It was a time when LGBTQ folks had to live their lives in quiet shame.

It was a time before child labor laws.

It was a totally fucked up time.

That's where Republicans want to take us back to.
