@th0ughtvect0r@zebulgar They don’t. Like how China doesn’t allow US apps in China we are banning a Chinese app from the US. We are just adding a stipulation that’s says if the Chinese Communist Party does not have any stake in this app we will allow it.
@rahulxc@Carnage4Life@stratechery Yeah I’m sure Ben is making millions for @stratechery via subscription. Thing is he has low burn because it’s just him. Maybe @Carnage4Life ‘s hypothesis is more about being a big media business not a blog.
🚶🏾♂️ WEEKLY WALK THROUGH DYSTOPIAN🔥🌆 OAKLAND.
“Hegenbipper Road”
Let's take a walk around “the most dangerous square mile in America” -- Hegenberger Rd.
In recent days, @innoutburger_ announced a shocking and historic closure, citing crime. @DennysDiner followed suit this week after pleading with the city for help for months to no avail. A family was robbed at a gas station at gunpoint and had all of their belongings stolen - they are currently offering a 10k reward.
What I observed:
1. This is Oakland’s International Airport. This commercial corridor is the first thing you see when you enter the city. Most of the businesses are closed, and the few ones remaining are struggling, save for Raising Cane's, who had a long line. (But had to switch to drive-through only due to break-ins)
2. Like many parts of Oakland, illegally parked RV’s, some of them burned out, line the streets. There is a clear pattern here - businesses that are by these RV encampments are fraught with crime and eventually close.
3. It seems the City of Oakland has thrown in the towel. Oakland is tackling its toughest challenge yet. Ignoring this reality and defending failed progressive policies will only lead to political irrelevance. Neighbors are uniting, determined to reclaim our city. ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 ✊✊🏻✊🏼

@natfluential@MichaelSilvers8 He’s more athletic but he’s not smarter than a Lebron or most nba players. He’s not ready to deal with high level nba playoff minutes.
