NEW: ‘Protect Ontario’ and other ad campaigns cost taxpayers $55 million last year across 3 ministries.
The latest FOI records we obtained reveal the Ministry of Finance spent $21.4M on ads last year.
We are still waiting for records from 5 other ministries.
Ford
Is
Overriding
OUR VOTES.
He is causing Democratic Backsluding.
He is Autocratic.
We need a massive general strike.
I can think of no other effective response.
Mayors & Councilors across Ontario are demanding that Ford restore our democratic rights.
With Bill 100, Ford has canceled regional chair elections in 8 regions, and given himself the power to hand-pick chairs who will be able to overrule votes by a majority of elected Councilors.

Ford and his Cabinet Ministers were caught speeding 23 times and fined $3,300.
So Ford banned speed cameras.
Now:
▶️ speeding is up 380%
▶️ 2 people have died in accidents where speed cameras used to be.

NEW: we’re learning more about the cost of “Protect Ontario” ads to taxpayers.
FOI records show the cost for just one ministry to produce & run them last year was nearly $10 million.
The total the Ford government has spent across all ministries is expected to be much higher.
This is what eight years of Doug Ford has done to our healthcare.
Patients who need a hospital bed are stuck in the ER for 17 hours. The government's own target is eight hours, and even that's too long.
Three-quarters of ER doctors say their departments are critically overcrowded.
Doug Ford broke our healthcare system.

Carney: Canada is a mosaic, not a melting pot. And this is the distinction that matters. Because a mosaic doesn't dissolve or blend its pieces. Each is stitched to each and all the pieces hold all. And the beauty is in the arrangement, not in the blending.
Ontario has the same problem.
“There’s no money for education.”
But there’s money for police in schools.
Money for a private spa.
Money for Highway 413.
Money for a tunnel under the 401.
Meanwhile, teachers are still reaching into their own pockets to help stock their classrooms.
Ontario doesn’t have a money problem.
It has a priorities problem. 🍎📚🏫
Doug Ford is hiding a FOURTH police investigation, this time involving the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility.
It was triggered by one of 19 forensic audits this government has been forced to undertake.
@stephaniesmyth is telling @fordnation to release the audit.

Tensions ran high & frustrations were palpable at a TDSB parent budget meeting Tuesday night, where parents pressed for answers on hundreds of staff cuts and program reductions planned for this fall.
But the Ford government-appointed TDSB Supervisor didn’t answer questions during the meeting & declined an interview with me afterward. Watch:
This is how broken the democratic process in Canada is. A mega bank based in America hired an army of ex-Liberals, Conservatives and NDPers and bolted the issue of Billy Bishop expansion to the top of the priority list for Ford and Carney.
No one voted for it. No one wanted it. No one campaigned on it. Torontonians are massively against it.
We are under economic warfare. Ontario govt wiped out OSAP for students. Yet govts think it wise to spend their resources on an issue no one wanted except one mega US bank.
This is the key danger of privatization. These foreign equity banks are massive, comparable to govts and have ability to bribe and buy out govts. JP Morgan just did it.
