Robert F. Kennedy Sr. and Joseph Smith Jr. are the only assassinated presidential candidates in US history. I am writing a dual biography of these men, their lives, campaigns, assassinations, and impact on history. In anticipation, I will post daily updates on their campaigns 🧵
So humbled and honored that my colleagues awarded me “The Religious Education Outstanding Teaching Award” for the 2025-2026 school yard. I love them and the amazing students at @BYU@BYUReligiousEd
America is desperate need for corporate, political, and religious leaders to embody sound ethical behavior.
"Ethics is a set of moral principles and values that guide our choices, helping us figure out the difference between right and wrong and decide how we ought to act."
Loving things, using people, and worshiping yourself is a false promise of happiness and a recipe for misery.
The better formula is: use things with gratitude, love people, and worship the divine.
On this day in history: July 2, 1863, the Confederacy got its butt handed to it on a platter by a liberal arts college professor on sabbatical.
Don't mess with college professors.
Iconic—It’s no secret that @BYUphoto & BYU Video capture campus and its people like no one else.
Last night the team took home the top awards from the University Photographers Association of America.

@PopePiusIXStan Amen! One of the highlights of my return to Italy, was to visit her home in Siena and pray. I look forward to the day I can thank her for her example.
Simplicity on the other side of complexity or as I like to teach it to my students, mature complexity. It knows everything that complexity knows and more because the individual CHOSE faithfulness to Christ and His promises even when the evidence seems contrary, just as Christ was faithful to the Father in the Garden and the cross.
@RideUTA Please help us understand what is going on. You have given no indication about the bus bridge on your socials. We took the bus bridge 50 min ago in Vineyard, got here to American Fork 20 min ago and have been just sitting in the parking lot now for 20 min with no info from your driver or leadership team.
They were amazing, handcarters and rescuers alike. It is true many were teens, some as young as 12. However, none of them died within the year. Furthermore, they went on to live long lives. Family remembrances show a few with lingering health issues, but that’s hard to exactly tie to the rescue.
@LukeFHan@Mormonger You might find some interesting ideas in my article, “For the General Good: Why Joseph Smith’s Presidential Campaign Matters.” It was written specifically to teachers of youth and young adults.

@theojaffee@pmarca He also brought the printing press used in New York for Joseph Smith’s presidential campaign newspaper “The Prophet,” and started the “California Star” which announced to the world the discovery of gold at Sutter’s Mill, starting the gold rush.
In July, the Church will open 55 new missions to accommodate a growing number of missionaries already called. The addition will bring the total number of missions to 506 and allow missionaries to better support the growing number of congregations worldwide.
“What we are witnessing today is more than growth in numbers,” Elder Dale G. Renlund (@DaleGRenlund) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said in a May 2026 social post. “Across the world, missionaries are demonstrating a deep devotion to the Savior and a sincere consecration to His work. An increasing number express that their fundamental reason for serving is their love for Jesus Christ and their desire to join Him in His work — an inspiring reflection of the faith and commitment that characterize today’s missionary force.
“As the work goes forward, this is indeed a joyous and marvelous work and a wonder.”
