Our Shopify app VerbiAI has been acquired!
Huge thank you to everyone who used it, gave feedback, and helped us along the way — and to @ozanymz for building it together. 🔥
Also, thanks to @acquiredotcom for making it happen.
Ready for the next chapter!
Two days ago, a merchant requested a feature in our app. I implemented it quickly, they liked it, and I kindly asked for a review. They left this amazing review.
This morning, it was gone.
I think this cleanup is a great step for the ecosystem, but it looks like some genuine reviews are getting caught in the process too.

Shopify pulled 15,521 app reviews today. The old record was 3,944.
Last week I posted that the purge had started. I figured it would taper off by now.
It didn't. It's run about 4x normal for nine of the last ten days straight. Today it went to 30x.
Reviews pulled per day, across every listing I track:
The two weeks before July 6: 513Since the announcement: about 2,060Today: 15,521 across 2,962 apps
Anyone else getting hit?
Just shipped our first Sidekick extension for V Bundles. It was much smoother than I expected and honestly one of the most exciting Shopify features we've worked with recently.
We're already working on phase 2 with more advanced actions. 👀
Sidekick support is now live in V Bundles.
You can ask Sidekick to build:
• Quantity breaks for best sellers
• Bundle offers for collections
• Upsells for specific products
You can also view your top-performing bundles ranked by revenue generated.
Less setup.
More selling.
@faridmovsumov Fake reviews have always been a hot topic in the Shopify app world, but we still haven’t seen any meaningful action.
I wrote this 2 years ago, and unfortunately, not much has changed.
There are so many apps on the Shopify App Store with hundreds of fake reviews from fake stores with just minutes of usage. How can someone have a problem with an app and their issue is resolved in just 30 minutes? Or really decide to leave a 5-star review after only 1 minute of usage? :)
I think @Shopify should implement mechanisms to detect these or periodically check these apps.
I reported one with screenshots as proof but got no response from @ShopifySupport.
As an app developer, I receive countless emails from 5-star review services and obviously many app developers use these "services".
This issue should be fixed to ensure fair competition, otherwise, reviews become meaningless.
@RobChinery Maybe if your app has more pricing plans than the ones shown on the app listing page, Shopify requires you to provide a link with all available plans. We were warned about the same thing.
1,593 new Shopify apps were added in the last 2 weeks.
That’s roughly 10% of the entire Shopify App Store.
With AI, the barrier to building apps is lower than ever.
The real challenge won’t be building apps anymore.
It’ll be standing out.
Besides that, even though Shopify proactively recommends switching to web components in their docs page, imo there are still too many gaps. Lacking a progress bar or the inability to tweak button sizes caused me quite a few headaches. I'm just using a hybrid approach at the moment.
We’ve been using @mixpanel for our Shopify apps for a long time to understand user behavior (which is a great service), but there’s still no mobile UI after all these years. Or did I somehow completely miss it? :)
I'm Boris and I created Claude Code. Lots of people have asked how I use Claude Code, so I wanted to show off my setup a bit.
My setup might be surprisingly vanilla! Claude Code works great out of the box, so I personally don't customize it much. There is no one correct way to use Claude Code: we intentionally build it in a way that you can use it, customize it, and hack it however you like. Each person on the Claude Code team uses it very differently.
So, here goes.
