@FamousAlan@markwoodland "But he died an alcoholic..." is the perfect response to illustrate what Watts is trying to tell us. Getting stuck on someone's "flaws" misses the point of the gift they left that you are learning in this moment. Imperfect people give amazing things to this world every day.
@monkieboy99 They both serve one's needs differently. Close knit friends are important for feeling connected to community and a sense of belonging, and the therapeutic environment helps us go deeper into the inner work that helps us be our best selves. They are mutually enhancing
@HealthyEcstasis@contactballer@tipado@doubleblindmag Other folks. This team in the link, relying on the work of theoretical physicists at Princeton. Trying to answer the question without the handwaving usually required in philosophy to stipulate fundamentals.

@HealthyEcstasis@contactballer@tipado@doubleblindmag Interesting science on this: Theory of conscious agents. Based on high energy physics that proves the spacetime we perceive is not fundamental, and that the human perceptive apparatus was evolutionarily tuned to survive in spacetime. There's more going on than we can see
@algekalipso We are all experiencing it right now. Our perceptual apparatus has evolved in such a way that it clips the full bandwidth of experience so we arenโt overwhelmed. We have to reach to perceive things at greater intensities than our ground state admits.
@bastard_brian Not maintaining relationships is a clue which indicates either there is more inner work to do to overcome aversion, or one has reached a skillful discernment of when attachment is counterproductive to growth.
@JoshAFairhead@the_wilderless Because prioritizing fullness would lure practitioners into attachment to *something* and cause suffering. If there is *nothing* to hold onto, attachment exists as a product of buying into the illusion and can be more easily abandoned. Enlightenment is the reward.
@hubermanlab Does the activation of the visual cortex from Psilocybin and other psychedelics result in coded imagery that has verifiable similarity across different users? Is there something unified that we are seeing/experiencing, and would it be worthwhile to seek meaning in that coding?
@hubermanlab Comparison of microdosing protocols at shorter intervals (say, daily to weekly range) vs. macrodosing at longer intervals (monthly to quarterly range) in terms of durability and longevity of benefits. Thank you ๐
@TheRundownAI Midjourney seems to have some default response settings when dealing with abstract instructions to work with color. Left to itโs own devices, it seems to gravitate towards the internally luminous jewel tone palette. Will be interesting to see it evolve
