Humanoid robotics is hitting a data wall. Teleop and mocap took us far, but they don’t scale to every object, terrain, and behavior.
We’re releasing GRAIL: https://t.co/LxTKtMPtw0 — a fully digital pipeline for generating loco-manipulation data before the robot moves. 🧵(1/8)
How do you teach a humanoid to assist another person in close-contact? 🤖
The hard part: the two bodies are physically coupled — helper & helped continuously shape each other's motion.
Neither can be solved alone.
Meet AssistMimic, our multi-agent RL framework👇🧵 #CVPR2026
Code is finally cleaned up and open-sourced — undergrad thesis kept me busy.😂
4 example tasks: walk/jog/run, steering, location, getup.

Pretty robust policy, but I really don’t like the way they’re demonstrating robustness. There are much better ways to showcase fall recovery than this. I’m against any form of violence toward or from robots.
Japanese robotics startup Tokyo Robotics has developed a humanoid robot called Torobo.
The robot walks with smooth and natural human-like movement.
It can also copy human motions in real time through full-body remote control while maintaining good balance.
Scaling embodied AI starts with automating the environments.
Introducing SimWorld Studio: a self-evolving factory for endless interactive 3D environments where agents act, fail, and learn.
With coding-agent + embodied-agent co-evolution, navigation success improves from 50% → 90%.

🧟♂️ Introducing FrankenMotion: Part-level motion generation with unified Spatial-Temporal Control!
From fine-grained bodypart descriptions to high-level action goals, we enable you to compose distinct elements into coherent motions.

@Darpinian@agilityrobotics Its a difference in how the companies are actually making money. Chinese humanoid companies are largely making their money from the government from the little giant program and propaganda funding for demonstrations. US companies are forced to do industrial tasks for market fit.
This is still one of the largest deployments of RL. It goes to show that sim-to-real still works for large inertia motor systems as long as your hardware is properly feedforwsrding all the dynamics.
Unitree Unveils: GD01, A Manned Transformable Mecha, from $650,000 👏
The world's first production-ready manned mecha. It can transform. It's a civilian vehicle. It weighs ~500kg with you inside.
Please everyone be sure to use the robot in a Friendly and Safe manner.
this is one of the coolest things ive seen this year. Its just a scaled up G1 with bigger but hey it works. Safety be damned it makes the child in me giddy with excitement.

NEW: Disney reveals “ReActor,” a new method for Walt Disney Imagineering’s robotic character pipeline.
• Combines reinforcement learning with physics-based simulations to transfer human motion to characters
• Could be the next milestone for more lifelike robotic characters
Figure designed its first-generation hand using a tendon-driven approach, similar to Tesla and 1X.
Brett Adcock says, "It ended up being the wrong engineering choice, and we pivoted away from it really early."
