@Cisraelson01@csub_techteach1 Screencastify is a great tool to incorporate in your teaching! It’s nice that students are able to do so much with it! I especially like that they’ll be able to ask for help or work with a classmate. It looks like it would be helpful when doing group projects as well!
@csub_techteach1 I would implement Loom into my classroom. I’d make videos that touched briefly on certain lessons we learned throughout the school year for students to revisit. Students can also use Loom to make presentation videos either individually or with a group.
@RubiGalvez13@csub_techteach1 Hi Rubi! I love the idea of adding Youtube videos to lessons! Youtube is something kids are very familiar with nowadays. So, if a lesson called for them to use Youtube, students would be able to navigate through it easily. Also, video are always fun to watch!
@csub_techteach1 My favorite Technology Tool to use in my lesson plan is Kahoot. I can use it at the end of my lessons as a “check for understanding”. If majority of my students are answering the questions correctly, I’ll know that it’s time to move on to the next portion of the material.
@samanthadlt23 @csub_techteach1 Hi Samantha! Google Forms is great for assessing students and gathering feedback in general. I like that it gives options for different types of answers such as multiple choice, fill in the blank, checkboxes, etc. It’s also super easy for students to access and complete.
@csub_techteach1 My favorite Google Tool to use is Google Slides. I can plan out the day’s lessons and activities, and it helps the whole class stay on track. Students can also have viewing access to it if they are wanting to know what the school day is going to consist of.
@VanessaRM_csub@csub_techteach1 Hi Vanessa! iMovie is a fun tool that students can use to make mini videos on a topic or subject! I like that our Tech Quest Portfolio asks us to use the app so we can become familiar with it and potentially use it in our future classroom.
@csub_techteach1 My Tech Quest Portfolio is coming along great! I found the Google Sheets spreadsheet tutorial the most useful because it taught me the many amazing things you can do with a Google spreadsheet! I’m looking forward to using Google Sheets for future activities!
@Emsa270 @csub_techteach1 Hi Esmeralda! Having students create a video on their culture is a great way to meet their cultural needs. They can share facts about their culture, & show traditions or how holidays are celebrated. Google Maps can also allow students to show where their culture is from.
@csub_techteach1 My Tech Quest Portfolio is coming along great! Emaze can be used for students to create a presentation on their culture, and share the link with their class for peer review. Google Earth can allow students to showcase the side of the globe that their culture derived from.
@VanessaRM_csub@csub_techteach1 Polleverywhere is a great site to use to survey students! Students can suggest responses to the poll, and then individually vote on the ones they agree with. It’s also anonymous so students won’t feel pressured to choose what their friends are picking.
@csub_techteach1 I would use Google Forms to survey kids on their various interests, & have them suggest teaching methods they like or that have been beneficial to their learning. I would take each student’s opinion into consideration to incorporate their interests/suggestions into each lesson.
@MayaCsub23@csub_techteach1 Google Forms is such a useful tool to gather feedback from students. You can even give a quiz using Google Forms! You’ll be able to see how well your class did as soon as the submissions start coming in as well. So, you’ll know which area of the lesson to reteach if necessary.
@csub_techteach1 Using Google Forms, I would push out a form for my students to complete before and after summative assessment. I would want to know their thoughts on if there was something more we could do, or could’ve done, in class to help them better prepare for the summarize assessment.
@Emsa270 @csub_techteach1 I’ve never heard of Nearpod before! That’s such an engaging tool to use in the classroom. Especially the virtual field trips! Field trips can be expensive to plan, but with a virtual field trip every student will be able to participate! It’d definitely keep them on task too!
@csub_techteach1 I’d use Google Slides. It’s accessible to students, & I can edit it when necessary. I’d create a presentation where students can add their own slides with their thoughts on the lesson, or with new information they found, & they could peer review their classmates’ slides too.
@QueneshaQ@csub_techteach1 Youtube is a very helpful tool to use in the classroom! There’s a wide variety of videos to choose from, and you could use different videos on the same subject to cater to different learning styles. Videos are a great way to keep students engaged as well!
@csub_techteach1 I’d use Google Slides as a way to map out our school day so students can feel prepared. The slides will contain our ELA/Math center time and the lessons we will be covering that day. Links to educational videos could be embedded in the slides as well.
This class has been very helpful in expanding my knowledge on the use and importance of technology in the classroom. The coursework (discussion boards, twitter chats, etc.) is full of useful information that I’d like to apply to my future career. #EDTE4200Spring2023
@QueneshaQ@csub_techteach1 Kahoot is a great way to assess students, and it’s also fun to play! It keeps students engaged, and like you said, makes them want to actively participate. It’s also easy for us to teachers to know how well students are comprehending a subject or topic.
