building Avant Health, an AI-native benefits administrator (TPA). previously product lead @leantaas and @kinsa. mostly obsessed with healthcare and politics.
The music is about to stop.
First came vibe coding.

What if there was a bank account available, that required you to deposit monthly, what you would have paid an insurance company in premiums, for an ACA silver plan. So for a family of 5 about $2100.
The amount would then be used for Stop Loss Insurance set at $30k dollars. About $300. Another $200 would be used for local Direct Primary Care for your family
The balance would be in YOUR bank account.
Like an HSA, It could only be used for approved medical expenses. If you never have any medical expenses, you will get to keep the money plus checking act level interest, when you turn 65
If you have a medical event that is more than what you have saved, your bank will loan you the money you need to pay for it, up to the $30k stop loss trigger
You would repay that amount using the monthly $1600 net deposit. Once the loan is paid off, the deposits start to accrue to you again.
This is not insurance. It’s a specially designed bank account that gives you control, support, a doctor to work with and catastrophic financial protection.
Lots of work and issues to be addressed. But I was curious what people think
Let me know !
The top 10% of employees using AI to ship 10x the output is now the norm. The new advantage is those people helping the next 10% also 10x their speed. Companies investing in enabling this are going to compound their velocity and build true structural advantages.
"What happens to an organization when the floor rises for everyone at once. When a CX team lead shares a skill and sixty reps level up overnight. When a new hire's first session in Glass already knows their team, their projects, and their tools. When someone who's never opened a terminal is running scheduled automations that would have required an engineer six months ago."
I’m extremely excited to announce that @try_glimpse has raised a $35M Series A led by @a16z with continued participation from @8vc & @ycombinator bringing our total raised to $52M.
At Glimpse, we’re building the AI-native infrastructure for CPG & retail brands. We started off automating the deductions workflow - recovering brands millions of dollars back into their P&L & saving dozens of hours every week. With this initial focus, we’ve also built the CPG data layer giving us the opportunity to continue expanding to more manual workflows that can be automated. We’re giving CPG brands real operating leverage in the world of AI.
To our 200+ customers including PLTFRM, Evermark, IQ Bar, Alice Mushrooms, and more, thank you for your faith in us. We have more fuel now to keep supporting & scaling with you all.
We’re hiring - come join us! We’re just getting started.
The story of Avant Health is absolutely nuts.
A first-time founder sees 70% of 150 million employer-covered Americans are in a self-insured system still running on MS-DOS and COBOL. Legacy TPAs are literally faxing claims back and forth. He pivots from selling software to these dinosaurs and decides to rebuild the entire third-party benefits administrator from scratch with AI.
Less than a year after pivoting:
- Partnered with 3 of the top 10 brokerages in the country
- Serving employers with 50-1,000 employees
- Team grew 30% recently
- Based out of Chicago, the insurance capital of the US
The best shows are art (storytelling) and science (frameworks). This has both off the charts. Enjoy the new episode of No Fixed Route - the first ever tech podcast filmed in a @zoox.

My 6 takeaways with @sid_s17 in the replies.
“You wake up in Chicago, pull back the curtain, and you KNOW where you are. You could be nowhere else. You are in a big, brash, muscular, broad shouldered motherfuckin’ city. A metropolis, completely non-neurotic, ever-moving, big hearted but cold blooded machine with millions of moving parts — a beast that will, if disrespected or not taken seriously, roll over you without remorse. It is, also, as I like to point out frequently, one of America’s last great NO BULLSHIT zones. Pomposity, pretentiousness, putting on airs of any kind, douchery and lack of a sense of humor will not get you far in Chicago. It is a trait shared with Glasgow — another city I love with a similar working class ethos and history.Chicago is a town, a city that doesn’t ever have to measure itself against any other city. Other places have to measure themselves against it. It’s big, it’s outgoing, it’s tough, it’s opinionated, and everybody’s got a story." - Anthony Bourdain.

@justindross@ItzSuds @InsurTechInvest Let’s chat! We’re building an AI-native TPA for healthcare. @ItzSuds was first check in! Have many opinions about brokers/brokerages.
The next revolution is here: AI is already transforming the multi-billion healthcare sector, from drug distribution to R&D and real-time care.
But its progress depends on the quality and accuracy of the data beneath it. We’re excited to announce Integral 2.0, a compliant data platform that unlocks real-time access to multimodal health data.
Enterprises are eager to harness rich, multimodal datasets including images, text, audio, PDFs, and more to capture every dimension of human health.
But they lacked the right infrastructure - until now.
We’re already working with some of the largest companies in the world, and we’re just getting started.
I've gone 6 months+ without posting on X.
The @IntegralPrivacy team have been busy at work.
A few updates in those months away:
- Integral 2.0: complete platform rebuild, enabling a faster and more robust system (92% faster time-to-market w/ our data infrastructure)
- The team has nearly doubled. We've grown from 14 to 25
- We've onboarded 13 enterprise clients in Q2 and Q3 this year
We also have an exciting announcement later this month.
Now back to work.
@chrissyfarr We’re seeing significant interest and early signs of success here with our self funded plans (we’re an AI-native TPA). Cash pay first backed by reference based pricing. Stop loss likes the RBP backstop, which helps manage the high cost/catastrophic elements.
@chrissyfarr 🙋🏽♂️Happy to help if I can. Been in healthcare and health tech. Now building an AI-native third party benefits administrator for self insured employers.
