Trump is VERY transparent. That post perfectly expresses his utter frustration.
Opening the Strait of Hormuz is not just a matter of will. We don’t have a sustainable military answer right now because we don't have a defensive shield against asymmetric warfare (cheap drones and missiles), as Ukraine has against Russia.
When the U.S. launched Project Freedom roughly two weeks ago, three guided-missile destroyers were sent through the Strait to escort commercial shipping.
The Navy came under a sustained barrage of Iranian drones and missiles and intercepted 100% of the attacks.
Yet the defensive effort after just two days was extraordinarily resource-intensive. It nearly depleted the missile magazines of two Guided-Missile Destroyers and required support from more than 100 aircraft (F-35 fighters and attack helicopters). It costs an estimated $50–100 million to get just two commercial ships through safely over two days.
This model is completely unsustainable beyond a brief demonstration. The U.S. cannot realistically guarantee a perfect interception record against repeated sustained barrages.
All it would take is one drone or missile getting through, and the images of a burning American warship would be a major political disaster.
Below, Trump isn’t raging at the media alone. He’s raging because we don't have a cost-effective Military solution (money and lives at risk) to opening the Strait.
Excellent Copper Intercepts at Buen Retiro, Chile!
We are pleased to report strong near-surface results from our ongoing resource definition drilling in the Southwest Area at Buen Retiro:
🔘BRT-DDH059: 78m @ 1.70% Cu from 58m, including 40m @ 3.02% Cu from 92m
🔘BRT-DDH058: 75m @ 0.82% Cu from 9m, including 8m @ 3.77% Cu from 12m
Additional highlights include 100m @ 0.46% Cu, 64m @ 0.61% Cu (incl. 21m @ 1.21% Cu), and several other encouraging intercepts.
Since February we have completed 39 holes for approximately 6,885 metres. A third drill rig is now on site to accelerate sulphide exploration, with RC drilling scheduled to commence next month. Fleet Space’s ANT geophysical survey continues to confirm major structures and alteration zones, with the infill survey currently underway.
Merlin Marr-Johnson, President & CEO: “We continue to intersect good grades close to surface in the Southwest Area. With the addition of a third drill rig we are accelerating our programme and widening the search-space across this large copper system.”
Work is also progressing well on the Pre-Feasibility Study for the heap leach project, which has the potential to deliver near-term cash flow.
These results represent another important step toward our maiden resource estimate and the broader development of Buen Retiro. Thank you to the entire team for their outstanding work!

The U.S. 30-Year Yield is now 5.03%.
It has only been higher for a handful of days in the last 19 years. And it is now just 8 basis points from a new 19-year high.

This is different! After hours yesterday, Trump tries to sooth slumping markets with another of his pronouncements. Initial reaction is as expected. Risk on. Stocks, bonds & gold rally and oil slips.
But... the impact is short-lived and (almost) everything reverses - stocks down hard, bond yields rise & oil prices increase. The one exception is gold - up $100 per oz. currently. As a result, I decided to do a little gold miner stock buying this A.M.
AI writing is taking over the internet.
Every fundraising announcement, every X reply, every blog post. It's not just replacing human writing, it's overwhelming it.
The problem isn't that AI writes poorly — it's that it writes plausibly. And plausible-but-empty is the most dangerous kind of noise.
Here's why that matters: when my brain picks up on those subtle AI tells, I write off whatever you're trying to say — even if the idea itself was good.
"Success isn't linear" by Yoann Bourgeois
Success is not a straight line upwards, it's a journey with many falls, and the strength to get up, no matter how hard the fall.

Take the time to slowly and carefully read this beautifully written thesis, which explains in depth a message that I have been repeating for years…
The obsession by Western democracies with financial efficiency and NPV models has actually caused us self-harm. As a result, we have offshored strategic industries by prioritizing crypto over copper, spreadsheets over smelters, and banking over blast furnaces. Whoever owns the smelters and refineries actually owns the future.... and today, almost all of these 'dirty middle' industries are in China.
Craig has applied today’s situation to its impact on mining and metals, but this thesis also applies to many other industries.
@biancoresearch 9/10 people have never seen these numbers and think the last 20-30 years is just how housing markets work
but every long run index shows similar stability
heres one that goes back 400 years

Some red flags are beginning to appear slowly...I will start taking slightly more defensive measures progressively. Nothing dramatic yet....more along the lines of lowering margin exposure, reducing frequency, decreasing new open risk, moving more stops to break even, and increasing the balance of threshold gains versus overall open risk.
If more signs emerge, further measures will follow.
The “irrationality” of the past few weeks is actually a blessing. It can persist much longer, which is why I don’t want to adjust too drastically just yet.
These are actually the periods where you must press the offense...because they don’t come often, but as signals build, the defensive backdrop has to be reinforced.
The greatest damage tends to occur precisely in these moments, when aggressiveness is high but portfolio dynamics are neglected as red flags quietly accumulate.
Offense must always be justified by the defense mechanisms in place.
