Things have not been going well in Ranthambore over the past one year. All of this does not come out in the open, but in Ranthambore India’s largest centre of tiger tourism the focus is more on tiger tourism than on tiger monitoring. Rules are being broken here the way ordinary people break rules in public places.
In the past one year, some tigers and tigresses have gone missing. The officials have no answers for this. The sole objective seems to be that the tigers and tigresses near the lakes should remain visible to tourists so that tourism continues as usual.
Within the past one year, there is no trace of Riddhi’s daughter RBT-2504 or of RBT-2510. There is also no detail about the previous litter of T-125. Out of those three cubs, one was already killed by a male tiger earlier; there is no information about the remaining two cubs. The cubs of T-94 are also missing. These incidents clearly indicate that the situation is not under control.
The officials here are not concerned about any of this. These officers and staff have still not been able to control the situation in which people are paying ₹30,000 for a gypsy that is officially charged at ₹9,000. Where is the additional ₹21,000 going? I am saying this with full responsibility.
The fundamental principles of wildlife conservation in this tiger reserve are being destroyed, and the principles of illegal tourism are being promoted. The situation has reached an extremely dangerous stage. Seventy to seventy-five tigers do not exist merely because they are mentioned in newspapers or stated verbally. How many tigers are actually there will become clear only when the time comes.

Yesterday, another community dog was allegedly killed, and the body was found thrown in the jungle behind B Block at IIT Hyderabad.

The photographs and video being shared are deeply disturbing. One of the photographs appears to show the dog limping and bleeding before its death, raising even more serious questions about what happened to this animal and whether it received any medical attention.

Who killed this dog? Who authorised it? Who transported and dumped the body? Why was an injured, bleeding animal not given immediate veterinary care?

These are questions that demand an immediate and independent investigation.

IIT Hyderabad must preserve all CCTV footage and other evidence, identify those responsible, and ensure that any action taken against community dogs is lawful and humane.

An educational institution cannot allow cruelty, disappearance or killing of animals to become a method of managing community dogs.

The photographs and video are being shared as evidence and for the attention of the concerned authorities.

We demand answers. We demand accountability. We demand justice for this voiceless life.

Founder for 'People for cattle in India' Arun Prasanna said that the intense physical and psychological trauma inflicted by relocating a young calf over long distances, separating her from her herd, and placing her in non-natural, paved temple environments unsuited to her complex species-specific needs.
