On a day when regressive anti-LGBTQ factions are organizing in the streets support of turning every teacher and school employee into a gender-enforcement narc, it is worth learning about the real impact of “parental rights” https://t.co/oMKNE1EKM9
I’ll be posting a sign on my door for the @MBLiberalParty volunteers:
In 2019 Dugald Lamont fired his manager Eric Stewart for harassing a woman online. @WinnipegNews did a story on it. *I* am that woman, please have Dugald call me to explain why Eric is back AGAIN. #mbpoli
@HyundaiAus Keep in mind, in Canada, I walked into the dealer and took a test drive of the vehicle.
Furthermore, the attitude of the sales people due to this policy was literally “piss off, we don’t want to talk to you if you’re looking for an EV”.
@HyundaiAus went to Pennant Hills Hyundai yesterday to take a look at Ioniq 5 and was totally rebuffed “that’s all Hyundai Corporate - we don’t sell any of that EV stuff”. What a ridiculous experience. Why have dealers if they can’t sell the cars?
@HyundaiAus You know what you can’t do on a website, right? Kick the tyres for one thing! As in my original question, what’s the point of a dealer? I have an Ioniq 5 in Canada - wanted to go for a test drive with my dad because he was interested. The dealer experience has ended that option
@stevesi This isn’t going to be halted - even temporarily. Good luck getting Congress to agree on any laws about this, particularly if there is any fear that China will catch / surpass. It’s all inevitable at this point.
@benedictevans@gassee “ChatGPT only responds to input”. How much of our “output” Is entirely unprompted? Pretty much everything we do is some kind of response to external (to our brain) stimuli - after which we pattern match to what we know best. The similarities are intense.
Annoying bug for #macosventura@AppleSupport - cycling through Mail windows using Command-tilde only works for one press of Command-tilde. For it to work a second time, switch to another app and then come back. How is this (core) window functionality in Mac OS broken?!
This @yubico MFA research is eye opening — we argue about nuanced infosec concepts in our bubble but 59% admit they rely on username/password only when logging in, no MFA! So many still need basics.

@jsnell@gruber @HI50Steve @_upgradefm@atpfm@thetalkshow@macbreakweekly@reneritchie That probably describes me - but I can understand why it didn’t happen. iOS can’t beachball - so I’d guess they tried it out and it would stutter instead. No way Apple is shipping that. Pure speculation tho.
